9:48 why Qh8 was not played?? There are 2 variations (both wins immediately ) They are 1.Qh8 kg6 qf6 takes, kh7 Rh8 mates!!!! 2.. qh8 check kg7 Qf6 mates..!!!
@antebagaric19707 жыл бұрын
9:48 instead of Rb7, should have played Qh8+ with mate in two. Sure it's blitz but weird that Magnus didn't see it. I thought he did as soon as he moved his queen to 8th rank.
@abdullahkhalil98817 жыл бұрын
after Qh8+ mate in two?
@lewsalonowy7 жыл бұрын
You are not right. There was not mate.
@antebagaric19706 жыл бұрын
Sure there is. After Qh8 black can only go Kf7 or Kg6. If Kf7, Qf6 is mate immediately, and if Kg6, then Qf6, Kh7, Rh8#

Chess Studio Your camera work is terrible, focus the camera on the game itself and not on their heads (I'm not interested in their heads) and use a tripod, this will stop you shaking all over the place. Also use less lighting, it drowns out the vision and it is not necessary to have a screen display on the right hand side if you position the camera correctly to view the chessboard.

I figured e4 to close the bishop and attack the center was great and correctly predicted that Magnus would move his e pawn to e4 then I figured well the only logical thing is for Grischuk to move his rook to e8 and when he moved it I was super proud of myself, but somehow I'm only 1450 elo on chess.com :D

@1:00 Why does magnus play f3? personally I would've played e3 or maybe b4. Can someone explain this?
@marcoherrera73047 жыл бұрын
xOooOooOooOooOooOx Because of a bunch of reasons, b4 is a potential good move but there's not hurry on doing it, Carlsen knows the first thing he should do is block the center in orden to play in the queenside in the future. Carlsen plays f3, because his plan is kind of block this black bishop on b7 by playing with the pawn structure f3-e4. Also, the pawn is better placed on e4 than e3, because it gains some more space and allows the black squared bishop to move more freely over those squares. P.S. Sorry for my english, i'm still not that good

Queen against pawn, ofc totally winning position for white, because e or d pawn, all you have to do is make the enemy king be behind his pawn while you get your own king close to the action, and you repeat the technic magnus used here, finaly you will take the pawn with the queen supported by your king.

Yeah I thought the same, the king is too far from the black pawns and the rook won't be able to prevent the h pawn from queening.

Carlsen played awful & grischuk played masterpiece with black piece & I rarely watched someone played so good in cramp closed positions. It's blitz & in time pressure black lost but he had upper hand for sure .

This is en passant. If a pawn was moved 2 squares stopping beside the opponent's pawn, then it may be captured as if it had been moved 1 square.
@lindascoon46526 жыл бұрын
It looks like a draw to me. What is the winning continuation from that position.
@dannymerilles23824 жыл бұрын
There's no draw on that position because the only move of black king is Kf1 then Magnus Qf3ch - Ke1, so Magnus King will move closer to the pawn Kf4, the only move of black is Kd1-Qd3ch - Ke1- Kf3, the only move for black is Kf1 - Qe2 or Qxe2ch - Kg1 - Qg2 checkmate.

Whats with chess and the insincere half-handshakes and the rush to get out of there after the match? It seems kind of ironic that UFC fighters are usually more classy than chess players in this regard.

e3 to f3, f1 to e1, e5 to d4, e1 d2, f3 d3, d2 e1, d4 e3, the king is there, the pawn will be taken with check mate
@skull-agar77227 жыл бұрын
if kf1,qf3!,ke1,ke4, and u repeat the checks to make the black's king get to e1 while you move the white king next to the black's pawn and finally you will take the black's pawn with the white queen afterworks.
