FAQ Where do you get your material?

In this video I finish building a cull 2 chamber bat house while I answer a question "Where do you get your materials that you use to build your bat houses"

I would like to get two or three of those and try in different locations...we have a big mosquito problem in my neighborhood due to water collecting in a neighbor's pile of hoarded buckets and tarps...

Is there any danger to the bats from the adhesive in the plywood?

Once it is cured, it is of low risk, emissions on building materials used in homes are monitored and approved for residential building use and this is what bats experience in your attic as well.

A medium color should be fine, medium brown or any color really. Bats prefer the temps between 85 and 100 degrees. Think of a white car vs. a black car sitting in the sun. You want to make it so it heats up early but doesn't get too hot all over. Larger bat houses do better because when it gets hotter than 100 at the top the bats can move down, preferably to a ventilated area to find a temp where they are comfortable without over heating.
