I picked up Far Cry 4 mainly because of its setting in Kyrat, it just looks so beautiful and a nice touch that there are various Nepalese and Tibetan elements in the world. Honestly feels like I’m traveling there when on high quality. One small thing about 4 when I’m comparing to 5 and 6 is that the necessity of hunting, which became pointless in later games as in FC4 you need to do a lot of crafting

The setting and Pagan. I hate that I need to do the Golden Path route as the main story but my headcanon is always the hidden ending. I love everything else besides that.

I agree FC4 was the best. So much goodness: the Himalayas missions, Willis Huntley, Shangri-La missions, collectibles revealing the back story (instead of being pointless time fillers), the visuals of the setting, excellent sound design, killer eagles (ok, maybe not the eagles).

The Shangri-La missions was one of my favorite experiences in gaming. I just wasn't expecting an epic boss fight at the end! More games need hidden boss fights like that. Not a tough enemy off the beaten path, but a whole experience that's not a complete set piece.

in term of story FC3 is the craziest, but in term of gameplay FC4 is the most fun i have ever have of all FC games, using wingsuit to explore is very fun since there a lot of mountain to jump from compare to FC5 and FC6~

I remember when Ubisoft would have new features in their games that would leave me speechless. The helicopter thing in this game, ships in Ac3/Black Flag, hacking in Watch Dogs, destructible environments in Siege. Wish they would release another innovative IP

even though fc3 will always be my favourite cause of the memories i had with it as a kid i gotta acknowledge ac4 for what it is. people really gave the lazy takes like "its too much like fc3" but after playing the first 10hrs you can really see that its not,the amount of little changes they bought especially with the wildlife was the best for me.imo i can say its very similar to brotherhood in the sense it built upon something that was already a 10/10 but still managed to improve upon it

Ajay wasn t the best protag, he doesn t talk too much, probably because ubi was already thinking of that blank slate mute protag from fc5. They should ve had Min more involved, but that would also break some of the mystery around him

Nice video. Personal far cry 4 is one of my favorite games out there. Is one of the few games i didnt bored even 1 min when i was playing it. I liked the story, the open world, the gameplay and everything. Also i like the thing there is no good side on the game. That brings a tone of reality to the game. I like that type of story. I really was thinking the choices i was selecting and i was trying to take the less evil choices.

This was my first game in the series I ever played. Loved the story and the gameplay. Really loved going full stealth on all the outposts. Few gripes such as unskippable cutscenes and the grind for the silenced Bushman rifle in the arena, but even the nitpicks of those two; I immensely love FC 4.

I would love to fly around in that mini helicopter, and the little sound it made went it ran out of fuel remains in my head for years now, i played this in 2018 and I still think about how well made this game was. The setting and everything you said was the best !this one and far cry 5 are the big winners for me

I'm 100% with you. Far Cry 4 is the best game in the series. The only things I think it did wrong were: 1, the part where you get captured and stuck in the cliff prison. It just slows the game down just a little too much for my liking; and 2, the Shangri-La final boss fight is, in my opinion, way too hard. But Far Cry 4 is the Edward Kenway of Far Cry games - it's never going to be regarded as the "Ezio", but it's great nonetheless.

One thing nice about far cry 4 was how the Royal Guard and Royal Army were two distinct enemy factions that gave more world building. Also the Royal Guard was a challenging enemy force while in Far Cry 6, the Yaran army are just bullet sponges

Far Cry 4 basically took what made Far Cry 3 good and made a lot of improvements. A lot was still missing from the game and some of the story elements still pisses me the fuck off, but the game itself is fun to play. I just can't replay it again because of Sabal and Amita

The only thing FC3 has over FC4 is that Jason Brody is a better protagonist than Ajay Ghale, you get to really feel Jason go kinda insane while Ajay is basically a blank slate with no real change over the course of the game. But other than that FC4 took everything that worked in FC3 and either copied it or improved it. This was my first Far Cry game, so when I eventually played FC3 I was a little let down from all the hype it was given.

Farcry 4 was the first farcry game I played, and so I feel a bias with it compared to the others. I got lost in the culture of Kyrat and the personal stakes for Ajay. Pagan was an amazing character who felt like a harsh father figure and the backdrop activities and events while exploring are still great for me. And if Sony Sante Monica can use the baseline motivators to Kickstart a new God of War Saga then I have to l9ve Far Cry 4's Story even more. 😅

My only 2 complaints with the game are that 1. Animals attack constantly. Which is fine because they are fun to fight, but not when you're playing on the hardest difficulty and 3/4th the way through doing an a full stealth outlook takeover. Then suddenly 2 tigers want revenge for making their parents into a handbag, and it's either whip out the loudest, biggest gun you own, or die and start over. And they will be back next round too. 2. You can't turn your head when you climb stuff. They didn't add that until FC5, and I know it seems trivial but it makes it so much easier to sneak around. You don't have to stare at the sky while the 4 second interaction takes place hoping that when you can finally look around again the guard didn't change position. Other than that it's my favorite Farcry as well. Between that and 5. But the foreign setting, the arena, the characters being real and not cartoonish hillbillies named BillyBob, all that stuff is endearing and makes you feel like you are entering another world every time you start it up. The second time I played through I remember doing everything, and actually paying close attention to the story and dialogue wherever I could find it, and I don't want to use spoilers and ruin it for anyone, but the final decision of the game felt very freeing. Like finding your own third eye and flipping the bird to people who manipulated you along the way on your journey. And I was not expecting that from a series whose previous title ends with the option to just... leave. Or kill all your friends for no reason lol.

Still to this day my all time villan is pagan, i let him leave during the final mission. As for the golden path, i had to eliminate both amita n sabal, i had not established any connection with them n they were meh! so was the main xter ajay.

Hey! I'm doing a sort of ''speedrun'' of all games in the far cry series you could call it, well, not really, point is, I got a ubisoft+ subscription exclusively for the far cry series as I heard it was great, I am not planning on keeping said subscription so I only have one month to finish every game, it's been a week so far, I finished far cry 3, and man, WHAT A GAME! I even teared up near the end, yesterday I begun far cry 4 and WOW, the environment is so beautiful and Pagan is such an interesting antagonist! I can't even begin to explain how much I love the game already, I've made quite a bit of progress already, I find it hard to believe 5 will top 3 or 4 as a better game and from what the Internet says, it won't, and I am practically certain 6 won't either, so, looking at the games I played so far (and I'll make a better conclusion when I play the rest) If I am going to actually buy one of the games after the subscription is over.. I think it may actually be 4! I still feel conflicted on whether I prefer it over 3 because 3 had such a charm to it I cannot even describe, being entirely new to the series I expected 3 was only loved for nostalgic reasons but as somebody who hasn't experienced the series at all, and therefore doesn't feel nostalgia for it (Yet) I really adored it.

In Far Cry 4, The royal Army isn't a set of sociopaths in uniforms, some of them are in it for the money or for their family's protection, some even want the war to end because they're sick of killing their own countrymen, it was a refreshing spin on the whole rebel vs government trope.

Agreed, you forget how fun the game is until you replay it. Wing suiting off of mountains, riding elephants, sending hordes of animals to attack enemies, Far Cry 4 casually had one of the funnest gameplay loops. It's a shame how little love it gets, I feel like Far Cry 4 is the Pokemon Black of the Far Cry series. Really good but underrated and disliked for years.

Far cry 4 probably is also my number one of all far cry series. You described very well what it did right, I agree 100%. But, in my opinion, it had one big wasted potential- I wish there were a choice to play the game by siding with Pagan Min from the start and help him destroy the Golden Path. Here this possibility would fit especially well since both sides have their points and the story is not only black and white. And it would add even more replay value.

I had to drop FC4 because i didn't like the map layout/level design and somewhat the visuals.most areas feels the same, it was hard to localize myself in the world and since the setting is a lot more vertical, it's so boring and painful to navigate, i had to keep running around to find a path to the objectives and the graphics while they are beautiful, it makes spotting enemies a bit trickier (especially the arrow ones). Despite all that, I do think that this game is overall better than FC3 tbh
