Far Cry 5's second DLC installment was released this week to mixed reviews. After having been surprisingly impressed with Hours of Darkness I was curious as to what would come from the seemingly more interesting Martian concept.

Another great review. I agree with your assessment for the most part. The one thing I didn't like was how OP the new "Martian" weapons are back in the earth campaign. The Vietnam weapons were nice additions . They gave the opportunity to try a few different options. The mg42's ultra high rate of fire is nice. Let's see what the zombies bring to the world of Far Cry 5. Thanks & gg

Dude, I fucking know. I have been promising for over a month that I was going to update the weapon loadout list and yesterday I went to finish testing with the martian weapons in the base game for the first time. Idk what to even do now because the Tazer Lazer is hands down the best weapon in the game now, the Martian sniper is unstoppable at medium/long range, and because of the ammo and damage from the assault rifle I think it may finally edge out my AK. They have a real problem on their hands with this because they are so incredibly unbalanced that any top weapons list is going to, by default, be made up of mostly Martian weapons. Its really pretty damned frustrating.

It was kinda fun but there was only a few things to do like killing queens and climbing towers. Also the clutch Nixon challenges were really hard

Yeah, but they werent even fun hard, just frustratingly hard. It only took me once or twice on most but I swear to god I had to try like 10 god damn times on the last one I did.

Thats another thing that drove me nuts, the achievements for this one seemed totally random as to which objectives would give them and which ones wouldnt. I also missed the ending stats screen like HoD had that told you how well you had done. This one just kinda ended abruptly.

I didnt mind this DLC as much as the first one. Sure, there is literally not a single original idea in the entire thing, but atleast it was mindless fun. I get it though, you're tired of feeling like youre getting B rate content, I think alot of people are right there with you.

Thanks alot man, I am really glad you liked it! Yeah, I really was least looking forward to Vietnam but was atleast pleasantly surprised by it. Ever since it was announced I was stoked for Lost on Mars and its really disappointing how lackluster it is, didnt feel at all like their best effort.

This review is on point, everywhere else I was sharing my opinion (among theradbrad fans for example who likes every single game he plays) I get steamrolled when I say anything negative about anything xD This DLC has both cons and pros, and it's a worse DLC than Hours of Darkness

Now that I have my own copy of the game I have to play through the main game again. I'm still enjoying the game but this DLC didn't really draw me in. I like to have variety and this dlc just doesn't seem to have much variety.

Dude, what makes it even fucking worse is the Martian weapons they decided to include in the base game. I am uploading a video as I type this about it because it frustrates the living shit out of me. They are so broken OP that it kills any build diversity that we might have had unless you choose to purposefully handicap yourself. They just threw balance right out of the window.

Due to the fact that Ubisoft placed all this DLC in the arcade editor (thus preventing the need to PAY for it) is exactly why I bought the season pass when this came out. They even coughed up assasins creed assets. Well done Ubisoft.

The Arcade is one of the best parts of the game honestly. Once you beat the main story there is endless fun to be had both in deathmatch and general user content.

Man, you're absolutely right. I honestly didnt play alot of ubisoft games until like the last year. I love RSS and was impressed with AC:Origins. Base Far Cry 5 was pretty damn good too, atleast as raw entertainment - but you're right. Ubisofts development and business strategies are supremely annoying. They push it as far as they can without surpassing EA at the top of the shitty totem pole.

This is incorrect. I like your content, and I think you are a great KZbinr, but Hours of Darkness was just awful. The atmosphere was cool, but only for the first hour. and if you want to 100% the DLC then you have to walk around slowly for no reason. Lost on Mars was fun and very funny. I actually wanted to 100% because the objectives were actually fun. And hearing what Hurk and Nick would say was just worth it all together. You are very incorrect about what this DLC is and what you should do with it. If you watched this video to decide if your should get it, don't listen to it and buy the DLC, it is so worth it.

Thats totally fine man, ofcourse not everyone is going to share my opinions here and I am glad people have things to say in the comments if they dont. Still this one wasnt for me. Hours of Darkness was incredibly short but it was an interesting escape sequence through an oppressive and impressive Vietnamese setting and the insertion of the new stealth mechanics and overall structure felt rewarding to me. Ofcourse I wish there had been more content there, we all should have expected more and held them to it, but I still dont like what they gave us in this one. Everything felt 'samey' even though it was different enough to be justifiable and I really am more than annoyed they had so little respect towards their players to chuck in towers as a main activity. I liked some of the geothermals and a great deal of the dialogue but essentially the entire experience is just the first 30 minutes of the DLC on a loop until you beat it. I am glad you liked it though, you arent alone in that either and I would never fault anyone for having a different opinion than me. I appreciate you watching all the same my man.

I honestly dont know, it sure does seem like KZbin is full of some real dickheads most of the time but there are still a good number of people on here that are respectful and thoughtful and I am glad you are willing to count me among them. Truthfully, I think there is something to be said about culture here in general. Its not that there arent a bunch of talented, nice creators on the platform - but instead people are more likely to give loud, obnoxious ass clowns views because they are entertaining, which in turn elevates them into more prominent visibility over some more reasonable people. I havent been making videos long, but I HAVE been very much involved with KZbin as a viewer for years and that seems to be the trend. Sometimes some really quality people make it up (SkillUp, H3H3, ACG and such) but mostly its just an endless typhoon of Keemstars, Ricegums, and Jake/Logan Paul. Even as strictly a viewer, its insanely frustrating to see some of these people getting famous over some of the smaller more deserving channels. Such is life I suppose.

I have been a HUGE fan of the far cry franchise since fc2 but I think this is the last one for me. I has just gone downhill since fc3. I am incredibly disappointed in this game.

You know, the real irony is that I liked the base game more than any of the others. That may be because I didnt ever play FC3 until this year so i missed it when it was all the rage, but I loved FC5. This DLC specifically though felt like a slap in the face when it was something I was genuinely excited for.

My context is a little skewed on this because I didnt get to play them in their natural order. I particularly loved 3, liked 4, hated Primal fiercely, loved 5 but now dislike this new DLC. Over all though there arent many franchises that I can play several installments back to back and not get burnt out on, so that certainly to its credit.
