Far Cry New Dawn is an upcoming first-person shooter developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. The game is a spin-off of the Far Cry series and a narrative sequel to Far Cry 5. It is due to be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 15, 2019.
Similar to its predecessors, Far Cry New Dawn is an action-adventure first-person shooter set in an open world environment which the player can explore freely on foot or via various vehicles. The game is set in the fictional Hope County, Montana and uses a reimagined version of Far Cry 5's map. The nuclear fallout portrayed in Far Cry 5 has reshaped the landscape so that new areas have become available for the player to explore while others are inaccessible.

You're right, it is, I recently completed it, It's like far cry 4, it's not shit, but it's not amazing it's just kinda meh, I was dumbass enough to preorder it too, that said, I shouldn't be comparing them, you get an emotional and immoral heartbroken wreck of a man in might I say, a fucking fabulous pink suit with a dash of charisma and that wry smile, what does this game give you antagonist wise? SabreXT Also, I knew from the second I saw those antagonists that they were gonna be shallow as hell. Ubisoft got lucky with Pagen Minn, but outside of him, they just cannot write good characters. Everybody lauds over Vaas, but he had one well written monologue and about 20 minutes of screen time in a 12 hour game. And while I haven’t played Far Cry 5 yet, I hear that the antagonists aren’t much better. Also Hurk needs to go and micro transactions do not belong in single player games. Get rid of that shit, Ubisoft!

Pretty much, the previous Far Cry also gave me that impression. Try Dead Cells, its cheaper, with lots of content, action packed combat, constant dev support and content is unlocked by actual skilled play rather than mindless grind.

​@Dross M bro it does not have to be a desert but it does not have to be a colorful mess that looks like they fell on the screen with buckets of paint, and this is just the same map as the one in fc5, and to me post apocalypse means that the world has ended people are dying with every second that passes people fight over food weapons ammo and clothing, and life is hell, its dark scary and depressing, games like far cry new dawn don't give out that vibe, which to me it just makes it Blood Dragon taking itself seriously. and i fell like i have to make this clear, but Chernobyl was not a nuke blowing up, it was a nuclear power plant that has messed up because of a series of unfortunate events, from the faulty generator to the blackout that caused a lot of what happened there.

I would sugest to make the next Far Cry a really dark and gritty game. I wouldn't make it that you are a one man army and can kill anyone in your path, but someone that has a really limited access to weapons and ammunition and slowly progress towards becoming more powerful but still mantaining a feeling that you can be dead at every second. Basically Far Cry 2 with a character progression like Jason from 3 but without you becoming the supreme ass kicker by the end. Edit: Where it said gritty said greedy.

If that's what you mean by "refreshed" then no shit people got upset. Origins was the most generic, boring game ever. You fight enemies for 5 minutes each because of retarded hp sponges and level differences. (specially on hard difficulty). You have to grind everything so much in that game that if you don't, soon you become under leveled and enemies have magical buffs. Not even talking about how lower level enemies scale back to your level and their gear does too, so if you don't grind enough and can't upgrade your gear, lower level enemies become your level , same as their gear and literally punish you for leveling up. BUT HEY. you can buy XP boosts and money boosts... this stupid ubisoft greedy corporate bullshit.

Bit of a Necro but Yes .. a lot of post nuclear apocalypse games have pushed this trope that the world would be a barren wasteland after a nuclear fallout. Chernobyl and more recently Fukushima show that nature will very quickly reclaim a area..sure plants, animals and even humans will show a increase in radiation and tumor levels but life will adapt and flourish.

Far Cry 2 isn't about the story. The story is just there to give you a reason to be in Africa. It's about writing your own story. If they "made the story better", as you say, it would likely translate to hour long cutscenes and railroaded missions that you can only complete in a specific manner.

New Dawn sounds similar to Blood Dragon, a modded version of the previous game sold as a stand-alone instead of an expansion pack. Your open honesty that comes through your videos when watching these reviews is always refreshing. It is one of the main reasons I keep coming back, even if I never pick up the game you review. I hate the trope in triple A games where there's a wannabe charismatic villain that constantly shows up to fuck with the player. But we're never allowed to kill them because of contrived plot reasons, and they never do anything that threatening beyond wacking a side character or two.

Honestly, after replaying Far Cry 4 these past two weeks, Pagan (imo) is a far greater antagonist than either Joseph or Vaas. Unlike both, Pagan is likeable. You get he's crazy, but he's the type of protagonist that can genuinely wue one in. He has a calm demeanor and, to an extent, a degree of wisdom compared to Vaas and Joseph. If you read between the lines and play devils advocate you could argue that he really wasn't all that bad of a king/ leader despite his tyranny. Unlike Amita he was willing to keep the culture preserved up until the point of Ajay's meddling, and unlike Sabal he was willing to seperate outdated tradions from culture defining traits. The only real issue he had was his need for power, which like always, leads to corruption.

I personally believe I had the most fun in New Dawn out of 3, 4, Primal, & 5. Its sofar short lived as the fasted time at two days taking it SLOW, but the system changes gave me a reason to care. Instead of money I have to have different materials? Awesome. I waited until the near end for the expeditions and Im impressed by the locations available (so far on expedition 4 and planning to grab the spinter cell armor in the next one) but overall I felt it was a great game and enough of a change in the farcry systems to give me a good time I started to not feel from the others. Enough to where I missed the sale of farcry 6 and im kicking myself for it. I want to give it a chance but I only want to go in to complete my (uncompleted) ultimate edition collection and now my only option is to stop farcry and wait for another sale or fork over 120 for it.

So Vaas Montenegro was "Lightning in a bottle" for Ubisoft? There has never been a Far Cry villain that comes close to him. Pagan Min from FC4 was different and not bad (I felt sad for him). FC Primal's villain was dogshit (REMEMBER HIM!?). Joseph Seed was just bad (I think Jacob Seed was a much better villain).

gathering resources to upgrade guns because bullet to the head is just not enough..... I liked fc3 system as how to liberate outposts. You have a gun with properties that is same in all levels ( or rather states) and you choose which one to use to suit you or in the scenario. Equipping stuff for just damage is ridiculous and instant dislike to this piece of shit (not to your channel as it is quite good).

Honestly I don't know what all the fuss is about. It is a very good game. I am having a lot of fun playing it. So what if it works and looks like the previous and has the same mechanics? That's Far Cry from the 3rd edition. I recommend playinf Far Cry 5, having a year break from it and then start New Dawn. It is then perfectly "edible" ;) P.S. but yeah... the twins are really not "main evil" character material.

Honestly I just found Mickey and lou so fucking boring and annoying. they weren't threatening or interesting they just strolled in said some mean bad guy things and then walked away. Especially since I felt that their were plenty of times where they could've just been killed right then and their but weren't because we gotta have a bad guy right? I feel like this game was so desperately trying to be what far cry blood dragon was to far cry 3 but it just dropped the ball so hard. It's so boring, bland and generic. I really liked New Dawn, thought it took a while for me to adjust to the new gameplay (RPG-like) style. As for grinding, it's never been better with the expeditions and repeatable outposts. I always loved doing the outposts in the Far Cry games and to be able to repeat them, harder each time, is a great addition. The AI is still complete arse though. You are wrong about never seeing the people you recruit, though. You can find them around Prosperity and talk to them. As for the guns for hire, they hang out northwest-ish of Prosperity in some bar / steakhouse building (forgot the name of the location, something something crag).

Ubisoft really needs to go back to the drawing board with Far Cry. 5 was a bland open world with weak sounding weapons and a forgettable plot(I know the twist ending, but it's not as surprising as the nuke in Modern Warfare 4). Now there's this leveling up and loot system which shows that they're merging gameplay systems from the Division just to show it's different from the previous game. The problem is that if they copied New Dawn and sold it again, folks would still buy it. Which kind of shows the sort of stagnation open worlds are becoming now and co-op doesn't always spell good game.

'Bout the ending in the FC5, my real complaint is...Did not scream for a Cliffhanger! Let's face it! I think there's one little feature that Ubi forgot to implemented on Far Cry: New Dawn. *GUN JAMMING/BREAKABLE WEAPONS* honestly tho' it would be a nice neat feature on this game because most Guns/Weapons in this game are actually cheaper knockoff made from various junks/scraps or actual surviving Guns from pre Apocalyptic time that gone through harsh time on years of apocalypse & been spoiled with old scrap metal instead of the model appropriate spare parts (justified because of the post apocalyptic setting where mint & fresh looking weapons are as valuable as gold/diamond/mineral) that combined with bullet drop physics would make Far Cry: New Dawn feels more like actual survival game rather than just another Far Cry game with cheesy gunplay. it would be a nice neat feature for this Post Apocalyptic Far Cry game with guns are not as always practical as before & bringing back a gritty atmosphere from Far Cry 2 also: could you also review "Jump Force"?
