Farage Thinks He Can Take Labour On

Reform UK are claiming that they're going to make inroads into Labour's vote at the next election. But as they failed to do so in this election, it seems insane to suppose they will after Labour have had the chance to deliver. It is a strategy based on Labour being seen to fail. Yet the country is in such a mess, that this seems vanishingly unlikely.

There was a massive disinformation campaign, which has thankfully now all but ended, where ReformBots flooded all social media with support and praise and any negative comments were auto-reported and soon deleted by KZbin and other platforms due to the number of reports. Election interference got them 4 million seats, we can't let them get away with it just because the election is over.

Taking immigration off of the cards would be the way to do it. But it's not by embracing the right wing it's by making it a non-issue. Process aslyum claims then there will be no hotel use, have a process centre in france and there will be no boats. Increase training in the Uk, and up wages to reduce the need for migration. And in general improve people's lives and then there is no need for a scapegoat. That is how that rhetoric ends.

Nigel Farage is facing questions over why he is being accompanied on the campaign trail by an aristocratic friend who was convicted in the US for wire fraud. George Cottrell has been seen at Farage’s side on the campaign trail over the last week, including the day the Reform UK leader was hit by a milkshake thrown by a member of the public. On 22 July 2016, while attending the Republican National Convention with Farage, Cottrell was arrested by IRS Criminal Investigation special agents at Chicago O'Hare International. Cottrell was federally indicted on 21 counts for conspiracy to commit money laundering, wire fraud, blackmail, and extortion. Denied bail by a judge who branded Cottrell a "serious flight risk," he was detained in custody at Metropolitan Correctional Center, Chicago. Cottrell's indictment states how in 2014, he met with undercover federal agents in Las Vegas, where he conspired to launder millions of dollars worth of drug money using offshore bank accounts. However, following a plea agreement in December 2016, prosecutors agreed to dismiss 20 counts in return for a guilty plea to a single count of wire fraud in which Cottrell admitted to explaining various ways criminal proceeds could be laundered. He served 8 months in jail. (Source: Guardian, Arizona Republic)

The racist leave voters were more concerned about things like the Syrian migration to Germany (heading to the UK because of course they would) rather than the ‘white’ Poles etc. Romanians, generally viewed as Romany by these people, were also a concern. How do I know this? We had acquaintances we didn’t realise were racist, and couldn’t understand why they’d vote leave. There was some lip service given to the talking point of Poles taking jobs but in their cups, many of these people would admit it was the brown people they didn’t want. That their Facebook etc was accusing the EU of being open borders to Muslims (more nonsense) and that they used Poles as cover so they couldn’t be accused of racism because most Poles are white. So, you are well within your rights to call these choads racist as well as xenophobic.

In 2015, at the height of NF UKIP, they got just under 4m votes. This year in 2024 they got just over 4m votes. I think they have maxed out, I cant see millions of people suddenly turning away from their traditional votes to NF, especially once their policies come under scrutiny. Tories lost 4.5 million votes (2015-2024), others like the Lib Dems and Greens took about 2.5m. that leaves 2m who would vote tory but didn't out of protest, just my take on it.

In other words if you take 364000 votes from the tories-strategically chosen seats of course- and give them to RUK then Reform would have got 120 seats, with barely any increase in vote share. This demonstrates how badly broken the FPTP system is.

great yarmouth was a labour seat until 2010 election so reform could be a threat to labour areas , people should not be complacent

I dont understand the press obsession with a non-political party...it is a business after all..with 5 weird MP's in parliament with some very dodgy policies and opinions like Putin's a good lad really??

The only thing that Farage has got to offer the nation is another excuse not to watch PMQs on a Wednesday.

Typical of yobbo Farage. Remember when we came out of the EU, in Brussels Farage, Widdecombe et al all turned their backs when an anthem (not sure which one)? I was so ashamed. This action sums up Reform UK.

He's going to be so annoyed when he realises he'll only get the chance to open his mouth in the Commons once every few weeks, and the other Reform MPs will be annoyed that they have to keep silent to give Farage all the limelight.

😂😂😂 With 5 seats he's got a hell of a lot of catching up to do, it won't be happening in his lifetime & thankfully not mine either.

Frogage thinks he's going to roll on into Westminster and start laying down the law thinking he will have all the limelight he's sadly mistaken he will be treated like the "minor" party that Deformed are and if he and his posse don't like it well they know where the door is. I think he's way out of his depth here and will be shown for total clown that he is that is if he can even be bothered to attend Westminster I get the feeling he will make Dorries attendance look world beating in comparison and the people of Clacton have a better chance of spotting big foot.
