A beautiful tune, and one of the best ones from the entire series. (And that says a lot because the original series had a lot of good ones.) Even today, more than 25 years after the first season, this tune still manages to lure tears out of my eyes.... Merely listening to it reminds me of the more serious moments in the show... The ones filled with genuine emotion and struggle. I see the scenes of the show before me. The tune is both powerful and sad, but not in a negative way. Shinji Miyazaki did a masterful job when he composed this one, not to mention how well it complements Takeshi Shudō's (RIP) writing for the show. A piano-cover alone cannot possibly compare to the full original score of it, but you, sir... You did a great job with this one. Kudos for evoking memories and feelings from decades ago. (Now, go find yourself a violinist to do duets with. ;) Piano + violin = awesome combo ^^ )
