He's Klopp) has done a tremendous Job,but somehow i couldn't imagine it being the same! Shankly was something else& Liverpool and Football fans back then were of a different mentality! Football was the 'Be all& end all' for so many people,& the fans could still relate to the players!

Remeber the golden era that came after Shankly had built the foundation. Now, Klopp has done the same, and we have Michael Edwards, Hughes and Slot. Lets hope this will be another golden era. He left in 74, we was at the top in 16 years. So lets hope that we will be at the top till 2040.

A decision he was later to regret. "It was a sad end for man who had given so much to the club and who had once said of retirement: “It’s the most stupid word I’ve ever heard in all my life. It should be stricken from the record. You retire when they put the coffin lid down with your name on top. Until then nobody can retire.”"

Broke my heart, and I never recovered. Shankly had a connection with us fans noone else ever did as a manager. Cried when he walked up to us fans knowing it was goodbye.

Shankly never believed the board would accept his resignation but they called his bluff. He hung around like a bad smell haunting melwood daily getting on paisley’s tits. He never really accepted he wasn’t the gaffer anymore.
