Using the simple stairs on multiplayer wont allow you to attach a basic wall sideways. I have no idea why, so you will have to use a basic wall to get it to go side ways

This works on PlayStation 4 multiplayer you must use a basic wall to get it to go sideways you cannot build off of the side of it though so I had to build four walls across get it 4-wide and build them all out but it does still work just not as easy as this video.... Still worth it

I built this without mods, I forgot to mention that. Hence why I had so many issues trying to get back on it. Id recommend having two ways to get on and off it, place the ziplines in different places. I have been experimenting with building over the sinkhole with other ways, I believe this the only way to do it with it costing you massive amounts of logs or using mods.

This still works, I built this in my season 5 playthrough. I actually don't blame the people who said this cannot be built anymore, it is quite a pain to get going.

so ive tried this 8 times from different areas, every time i get out to 3 basic walls out over the pit i cant build anymore, the blueprint sits directly above my last placed section of unbuilt wall and it just stays there. i have to cancel the build then retry but it refuses to lay horizontal to continue the bridge or lay along side it to start the house itself. I physically cannot build past that deep into the pit from any direction ive tried.

Well you dont need sinkhole for flying house. You can do it every where aslong there is cliff nearby before using double floor technique

I have literally like 20 hours in this game and like F all for building experience, but so far i have built 8 walls out on my test play already after watching your video. So Confirmation. As of 1-26-21, can confirm this still works on ps4 version. I found after putting the simple stair, I attached my door, put one log in, then attached another door in exactly the same spot. Then I was able to get the simple floor attached on the bottom

For all those asking it does work on (ps4) yes it does, I did it in single player on creative mode, going to try on multi player in a few days. However once I got the first 1 in place I couldn't get the angle right from behind it like Farket did, so I placed a second piece to the side and got the the angle correct every time, it costs more doing it that way but still got the job done. Oh, another thing when trying to place the walls micro movements works best, lol. I'm building out to sea from the twin cliffs by the fertile lands! Thanks very much for all your videos, they've helped so much Farket!

farket! when you build a zipline and dont want to fly off the end, just place a skull lamp right in the middle just where it would drop you. you stop directly there. kind of useful for the light it gives and its cheap. love your vids.

Was playing co-op and our two person boat got slammed by an armsy (We had it in the goose lake cuz we were making a lakehouse, and it was easier to bring logs with more log space on the boat) and we only recently found it IN the sinkhole on the invisible floor you mentioned, it was in our attempts to reach it, we discovered wormsie. That... that quickly quenched our plans for getting the boat in plans for running away screaming. At least we both survived, first encounters could've been worse.

The addition of this sausage monster makes me want to quit playing the game. I used to always build on islands simply because I don't like having to rebuild. I don't get why they created this monster? Do they want people not to buy the game? I mean what's the point of spending days looking for safe spots, building defenses, using your imagination to come up with new inventive things just to watch it all be destroyed, by an almost unstoppable creature? I have just came back to The Forest after a long layoff. I just found about about this mutant today, not sure I want to continue playing now. Thanks Farket for the video, but if the only way I can be safe from this mutant is to build over the sinkhole then why play at all. As you said you are really limited to what you can build here so why bother.

Ultimately, it's to force the player to move along in the plot, and to prevent them from being complacent with maintaining a base. I haven't run into them yet, but that's why I prefer to build houseboats and stay offshore.

As a fellow aussie and forest player i had to subscribe as your videos are very informative and great for a new comer. I play on ps4 so it hasnt been out long. I've found it extremely challenging single player, without a guide on how to make weapons or items in-game. I think the forest could have added that to the survival boom rather then relying on youtube and the internet for the know how. Anyway thanks for the safety house :-)

Very awesome. However still curious if with a floating house. To bild a climbing rope down off it. Either over the pit or not. Something higher than the worm monster bits could reach. Also wondering what effects a turtle slide would have on the pit. Like if one is able to make like a U shape and see if the speed is good enough to send the rider up and over the ground to land safely in water. Though maybe off the side of the cliffs would be simpler.

Its possible, building up high is quite difficult though. Best done over the sink hole or in deep water. I havent tested the coaster out much.

Do not go anywhere near the sinkhole if you dont have the climbing gear. I accidently fell into the sinkhole after finishing cave 1. I had to delete my game after finding some bad info saying i could swim through the lake and drowned. Lost my stuff down there and was so close to uninstalling the game. I chanced it and reloaded back up on my host. Luckily i didnt lose my stuff. Others have. Stay away from the sinkhole until youre ready. You wont get out with your gear
