HOW TO BUILD A CANNIBAL TOWER HOUSE ! (v0.70) | The Forest

I'll show you how to build a cannibal tower house. It is built off the cannibal towers, they have their own climbing ropes! This method can be tricky so I recommend you build it how I am building it first, before experimenting.
There are a few places you can build this, probably more than I am listing here:

Just wanted to say that as of May 31st 2018, this build is still possible. It is extremely tricky to place the custom floor, but with some patience you can eventually get it. I am building out the Cannibal Tower house now in my game, and I love this location and build! Thank you, Farket for this suggestion and tutorial. I am just getting into the game and I am completely obsessed with it lol. Your tutorials have helped me so much since starting. The one thing that is completely lacking in the game is any sort of initial guidance, so your video's have taught me so much. Please keep it up!

so I was having the game running while I watched this video. Somehow I died in the game without knowing and the game went back to the main menu. The menu music then started going over this video, but I wasn't realizing that, thinking that the uploader made the video so. Goose lake, obviously, and the other clump of 3 lookout poles by the northern village overlooking the lake, what's the third? You need it in deep water or they will knock out any manual rock pillars you place, like you had to here, honestly I was a bit confused why you didn't just use that 3rd lookout pole that's on land over there on the other side of Goose Lake. If you are building on those 2 lookout poles by the cliff overlooking the Northwest Bay I GUESS you could extend it out into the sea far enough to be deep enough water to be safe, but it just begins to ruin the fun of building ONLY on the cannibal structures, as a f$@# you to the cannibals; when you build right from the ground it feels rather mundane

built it yesterday with help from a buddy, i thought i was gonna give up, it was extremely hard. One thing to note, the single rock pillar doesn't work anymore, atleast didn't work for me but it worked when i made a small triangle on top of the cannibal towers - similar to the support column, just thinner. Two stories desfinitely recommended! And another note: the latest flying weiner monster kinda now spawns close to the lake, so watch out. Disturbed me a lot while i was building x.x I have no idea if it can destroy the base though cuz i didn't play long enough for it spawn after finished building it. And Thanks a lot for this great tutorial!

I did this today and it worked, with modification (PS4). As OptiriuS stated, it works if you build a triangle rock pillar on top of the cannibal tower: 3-sided 2x2 walls. I did not need to add a second layer. For the third pillar I built a single width rock pillar. To start the floor I had to climb the first tower and start it in manual mode, then I was able to get the other two points from in the water. Tricky though. Another tip: instead of building a house boat to get elevation, I used Farket's 2x roof trick. That only cost me 8 logs and some rocks.

Alright, I'll admit it, I absolutely loved the transition to the furnished product. Overall design concept is cool, but as usual too big and complex for me. It'd be cool if I could just extend the platform of a single stand to hold a barebones camp of essential amenities. I'd say I'd be worried about a future update letting the cannibals utilize those towers but that just reminds me how worried I am they'll update the cannibals to enter and exit caves, rendering my current favorite roosts just as inhospitable as anywhere else.

I don't think cannibals will be able to climb this. They have had them in the game for a very long time, they would of added it in by now, though I dont want to jinx it. Then again, the ropes are in the water so they shouldn't be able to access them. I have never seen cannibals enter or exit caves, is that something that is new?

No no, just saying I'm even more worried about cannibals possibly being given access to cave traversal than the ability to climb the fishing stands. It may never happen, but I can't help think of a future where cannibals can swim, climb, and traverse caves freely. Frightening, but awesome. I'll join the discord soon.

2024 ps5 here and IT WORKS. I struggled with the floor not snapping on to the stone pillars like everyone else. Here is how I did it: stone triangles on the lookout towers (not single pillars) built 2 boat houses with a stick holder on the roof in a corner. Position one house boat under your stone supppot tower and the other house boat under a cannibal lookout tower. Climb rope of the 2nd cannibal tower and place the first point on your stone triangle. Jump into the water and get onto your house boat under the stone tower, climb on to roof and on top of stick holder and it will finally register to place it/snaps in. Repeat same thing on the other house boat under the final tower (lookout). Nothing was working for me until I was on top of the stick holder and it finally connected. Im sure there are other ways to do it but this is what I came up with

100% this is still possible, people saying you can't place custom floors on rock walls and snap are incorrect. I made it happen a minute prior to this post (PC). It's just very temperamental regarding height of the rock walls

funny, that's exactly what i did right at my first game! i was discovering the island, learning how to play really, and i find this beautiful lake with 2 wooden pillars and ropes.. i thought that i had to build a house beetween the two! unfortunately i didn't know your useful buildings tips yet.. so i did everything using fondations, cost me tons and tons of logs. all of this for a bit of a clunky house with many irregularities in the global aspect. but i'm happy that i did it, it's my cosy clunky base :P thanks for the vids !

As of January 2021 you can no longer place the Skull Lamps in the window like you did which sucks because that looks so cool that way but other than that it all works. I went two stories but its kinda cramped down stairs and the bone chandeliers are too low so i kept it single story to raise the roof.

In theory can't you build your own floating structure just by making your own Stone pillar is without having to build around the Rope platforms to climb up? Only a couple feet off the ground so the cannibals can't get to you and then possibly zipline into it elsewhere? Or maybe even build your own rope to climb in and out of it I have an experiment with those yet so I don't know how they work

I did this but I did three stories ad the bottom story is a rock wall like a basement and the 2nd story has the zipline from the cliff and I can go back from he 3rd story. Also got a bridge going to gazebo

One problem is also, the floor is higher than expected...hard to jumo over there....i make second floor also another tower whats in the woods about 5õ meters away.....now i have to make a house there....problem is in the logs.....cant glitch it...

Depends, I go through phases of using 4k, 1080p, and 2k. I am currently doing 2k all the time now. Use 50mbps on 2k recording while playing at 4k then render it at 50mbps

12:20 It's not gonna work either, I've tried it. You can still use zipline, but can't transport logs with it. They will all fall into the lake because the roof is blocked its path.

yo i cant seem to do the custom walls, has it been patched recently? it wont snap onto the rock pillers on the towers. its just a big red box

@@VapingLobster I just did this like a week ago so I don't think they patched it. The dev are working on Sons of the Forest now, no time for The Forest. And did you mean custom floor? I don't remember having any problems with the custom wall, it's the easiest part, when you already has the custom floor, placing custom wall just take a few second.

@@VapingLobster custom floor is default "auto fill" mode, you need to press C first to switch to the manual fill mode. The game does not show hints like it only has one mode is auto fill, but in fact we can toggle it to manual fill mode.
