I play this song whenever I'm depressed, and I've been thinking about the only man that I've loved, and still loved. He's an alcoholic, and he got sober after I left, and I haven't talked to him in years, and I want to so bad, because he was also my BFF. I'm just scared that he doesn't want to talk to me, and I'm also scared that he's started drinking again, I heard from people who think that he has, but I pray to GOD that he hasn't. It's hard loving someone with an addiction.

I got talked into playing drums (it was a Wed or Thu night) for their opening band about a week before cracked rear view came out- a little over a year before this Live Aid show. I didn’t really know who they were. Essentially, right before they broke big. I was one of very few people in the club when Darius did a soundcheck. He belted out Let Her Cry a cappella as I sat 10 feet in front of him. Holy moly what a voice. The hair on my arms stood up. I will never forget how down to earth they were. One year later they were back in town playing the big arena.

dude can do anything he wants to, he's that good. as for the color thing, you guys are about 60 years too late, I listened to Charlie Pride singing country music back in the late 60's early 70's the man was every bit as talented as Darius here is, and as talented as many of the white singers in country music were (many by their own admission) back in his era. music only knows the color the haters paint it with, Charlie proved it, the Beastie boys proved it, more will come to again prove it. music knows emotion, It tells a story. It is a shame. One of my close friend and still remains that. Is black. My wife and went to dinner with y buddies and his wife😎. We switched wives, heads out of the gutter and went to eat at a place that has great food but should have KKK on the sign. We walked in as two mixed couples, arms around each other etc..Now both Rich and I are no light weights about handling ourself. This was in 79 . Racial crap was abundant. You should have seen the faces and snarls we got. Turned out we probably shouldn't have tempted fate like that.it was fun though. Getting to Hootie. We played let her cry almost nightly when we did gigs. High request. We have a singer that gigs with us that has that type of voice.Always makes the Lady's cry. Great band in its time. I would drop in to see Darius whenever his shows were feasible. I think we should be past all the race crap. People are People. Said my piece. Dave

A deep song. I have been listening to it all day. It's about a guy who is dealing with a woman who treats him like crap. She loves her dad and Stipes in second place, he is in third place at best. She toys with his heart. Darius has the perfect voice for this song.

I’m back in 2024. Just imagine this was 29 years ago when I was 32 years old. Put both parents to rest 4.5 months ago in the year of 1995. Just put my last sister to rest in July on the 17th. I’m the last one to survive my immediate Family, outside of the family of my creation of 4 plus 4 grands now. My God time flies. 💜
