I learned something there. It makes sense. The torque amplifiers use clutch discs and the Hy-Tran is definitely better. I think we'll go the Hy-Tran in those after this. Nobody changes their transmission oil every year. It's impractical and not necessary when you only put a few hours on per year. When farmers were running 800-900 hours per year, yeah, I get that, but not 50-100 hours. The oil also got much better than what they had in 1954. If you buy the cheap oil at Walmart, it's exponentially superior to anything that they had in 1954. That's what I kept saying about low ash 30, is it's too darn heavy for winter. Now with the multigrades, it's much better. I was going to do a 560 complete oil change video last year, but my cameras were not working and lost my footage.

That diesel to clean out the sludge makes good starter to burn brush piles in the Winter. Those drain plugs looked almost like new. Most guys would make a mental note to put in new ones to replace the rounded plugs the next time they changed oil in two or three years. I guess oil was so cheap they didn't think about filters on the rear end or even on the TA? I remember on some of the Japanese Fords they just had a screen on the hydraulic system.

Last time i did an Mta i used my Samson 27 gal oil Suction system and found it to be about the best way to get 99% of the oil out of an old tractor as such. And we found with the top deck plugs that you always got some water in mine was usually from sitting out side in the rain . And when i went to refill we would pump a few gallons of diesel then hytran til we got clean enough out drain then filled with fresh oil. Shell makes the current version of the Hytran now for CNH since it had to be updated for the Latest CVT transmissions. The original is still made by FL Viscosity

Excellent video Gino :) also will say like helping hints on Farmall or McCormick International or International tractors or combine or machinery stuff matinne up in your videos too ! But on 1950 Cockshutt 40 my Uncle used Hy Tran 80w90 in transmission plus PTO and he said ran super and change fluid plus filter ever 5 years Lol ! I never got to read owners manual on it because he wouldn't share to me and let serivce that Tractor to himself! But read all McCormick International & International on 1963 McCormick International B414 Loader Desiel motor Loader type , 1968 McCormick International 105C combine gas motor, 1968 International 624 A Desiel motor tractor no Torque Amplifier on it was option then , 1978 International 724 B Desiel motor Loader type had Torque Amplifier and remember my dad put Hy Trans 80w90 he change ever 5 years plus filters to for transmission! But one helpfull hint Gino if slightly slip in gears or range shifter plus feel bounce like horse get up going it low on fluid to top up or needs change ! Yes remember my dad said Hy Trans fluid expensive in 1980's to 1990! But said do before change it Gino is correct my dad did that too before put new fluid in plus filter as you said to ! Also remember my dad want me help change in 1990 year and said oh my goodness it worn buy smell off and dad said want milkshake in weak chocolate Toffee way ! Said nope but stunk smell like skunk Lol! Gino doing well of job Boom 💥 tractors !

@FarmallFanatic Жыл бұрын

I was thinking its a separate compartment for the TA and the rear end.... CNH suggestion is hytran in all though. We switched from CNH hytran (now Shell oil) to the Viscosity hytran ( original manufacturer for hytran from the beginning until December of 2021? We weren't happy after CNH switched supplier. You should be fine extending the drain interval as long as moisture is controlled from getting in it. We get bulk oil and its still 14+ per gallon 😮 LGB!
