FARMERS' MARKET DAY MADNESS: HOW I DESTRESS FROM THE CHAOS

Filmed on August 2, 2024. Today's vidoeo will be slightly different. Lots of timelapse footage of Farmers' Market truck loading and unloading with some voice over to explain what's going on. I will also share which seed companies I work with and finally a relaxing kayak trip down our local river with farm fresh veggies cooked over the fire.

I have a small roadside stand here in Michigan, I used Sieger Seed for years because they were local about 30 miles from me. After the buy out customer service was terrible, I did not buy enough seed to be a customer according to the new management. That’s when I found Rupp Seed, I could not be more pleased! I grow sweet corn, pumpkins, zucchini, winter squash to sell, plus lesser amounts of tomato, peppers, cucumbers for my family. I have been enjoying your videos, wishing I were 25 years younger (I am 70) so I could expand the operation. As it is, I clear enough on stand sales to pay my property taxes and enjoy the areas best Sweet Corn.

Haha, yes, everything went well. When I’m gone from the farm, everything is shut down so there’s nothing to worry about. And I prefer sleeveless shirts lol, much cooler

Well,Jason belongs to those who can sleep outdoors.I,for instance,can't sleep anywhere besides my bed.I have never ever slept in hotels, during night bus rides ,even for a minute. As a teenager I had a couple trips to the lake for a fishing with staying there for couple nights .It was a train wreck , I always felt so exhausted that couple more days of rest at home were needed to get back on track.

I visited Rupps website and will definitely be ordering a few different varieties of seeds to experiment with. I usually order from my local seed company Clifton Seeds from Faison NC for my vegetables and Wilhite Seed Company from Poolville TX for my watermelons. Both have always been good to do business with for myself. Thanks for sharing new seed suppliers that I have never heard of.

Farmers markets are a blast , You meet some really great people that become friends . We like to do trading with other vendors [ trading our sweet corn ] . At one time we did five Farmers markets , Wenatchee , Wa, Moses Lake , Wa , Issaquah Wa , Moscow , Idaho and now Roslyn Wa. And we were invited to do the Union Farmers Market in Seattle

Rupp has been in buisness over 75 years. They are awesome and yes they do ship. Their customer service is amazing.

My brother and I was on the Mad River the same day as you. We put in West liberty to rt 36 took 5 1/2 hours and a lot of dragging and walking until Lippencott!! Had a good time. Drove by your farm again on the way home around 630 pm all quiet there lol. West Liberty put in is a muddy mess looks like they are putting pipes in under the bridge just past the park!

Ha! I only put in at Lions Park in the spring because I’ve also experienced walking a good portion of that section. I was just on it again this past weekend from Lipponcotte to 36….good times

Absolutely not! I’m out there to relax and let the current do the work for me. I either have a friend or my wife pick me up or I use an Uber to bring me up river where I’ve hidden my kayak…I always try to leave my vehicle at my ending location. And I’ll turn the fire down a little next time 😁

Looks like you would do well on the show Naked and Afraid except I don't think you would be afraid. Pretty hard to beat a time out kayaking and camping. We have that planned for next week.

What a refreshing way to do the Saturday Farmers market. I enjoy it no matter who you do it. But this was a nice change of pace. I do follow your other channel as I love to camp and what not, but this was the perfect relaxing video I needed after the stress of leaving one company, getting licensed to sell insurance, prepare my daughter for a new school and prep for the new job. Thank you for the tranquility of this video.
