Thank you so much! I'm sorta of new/out of practice with crochet, and have been looking for a nice, fairly simple, but pretty SQUARE coaster pattern and tutorial. Something small, but useful, to get used to doing the motions etc, so I can move on to larger items. The coaster videos on youtube were all circle shaped until I found this. Thank you!!!

You might need a beginner tutorial because the written instructions tell you everything you need to know. You can also slow down the speed of the video if you need, although I'm not sure how to do that :)

When you are doing the slip stitches and half double crochets are you going through both parts of the stitch or just the top/ back of stitch?

Hi! I’m sorry, I’m not familiar with indophil yarn. You can use any kind of yarn you’d like for this project though! You just want to make sure the yarn weight is close to medium (4)/worsted for proper sizing

I used a 3mm hook and chained 24 (to have the same 4.5” x 4.5” finish size) but the two colors are not symmetrical when I followed your pattern. What am I doing wrong?

So bit of a beginner here, I see you're going into the 'back' of each stitch? I pick up both parts of the 'v' of the stitch. It's that wrong or is that just a different stitch? Sorry for noob question.

Hi! So I am actually going through the 2 top loops! A half double crochet stitch has 3 loops (front loop, back loop, and a 3rd loop) so it may look like I'm working into the back loop only cause you see the 3rd loop not being worked into. So it sounds like you're doing it correctly

I can't see where you insert the back bump for slip stitch even with playback at 0.5x. Is it the side of the v away from me? Can u zoom in or have a pic of where to insert to the back bump?

Hi! When you are looking at your chain from the front you will see 2 loops, if you look at the back of the chain, there is another loop that bumps out. You want to work into that bump on the back. Hi! You may have a tighter or loser tension than I. Does yours turn out too big or too small? If it's bigger you can go down a few hook sizes and if it's too small you can go up a a few hook sizes. I hope that helps!
