Great information. I bought some pullets close to 2 months ago. They look like they were about a week old or so. They're about 2 months old now and I have eight of them. I need to either build a larger chicken tractor or buy a second one. I think building it would be cheaper but because I work full time it might be better for me just to buy something.

How long do you have to wait before you reuse a patch of land?

I've literally been looking for an answer to this question for 2 hours. I think the true answer varies depending on location, irrigation and climate..ect. the best I can tell is to give it enough time to "heal" and good again. But that's just a guess. Another thought would be to learn the exact decay process of the chicken poop. Find it's time for your location. At that point it's safe for the chicken to revisit. Then again is that time lengthy enough for the pasteur to recover enough.. or not.

Thanks for these videos. I'm learning a lot! Question: how many tractors can you have on one acre of pasture, assuming you are moving them once a day & want to keep the integrity of the soil? I'm about to sell my house in Austin, TX and buy a farm. I'm trying to figure out the amount of land I'll really need. I've been raising chickens (eggs) and goats (milk) in the city for 7 years. I have processed my own chickens before. Can't wait to be a real farmer! Hooray for the mid-life crisis.

I know you use electric fence to keep predators out, can you keep chickens in and will it damage them. In the past , I had a fence that killed a couple of squirls and a raccoon.
