Just when you are getting back in the groove then........oh no!! As you say Farouk is so good not to turn and run even though he was unsettled. These types of falls, or any falls really, take the breath away. You are obviously pretty fit so hope the recovery is short. Watched the 2 video's the wrong way round and also impressed how Farouk settled so quickly.

Tara you poor girl , I hope you are alright and only have bruised pride. I can’t even tell rightly how it happened. One good thing is that Farouk did not leave you, it shows his love for you. You on the other hand kept your cool , that’s so admirable. I love when Farouk canters, and so does he , or when he runs I’m flying right with him.

Oh my goodness .. that must have hurt! Obviously you recovered but certainly an experience any horse person would like to avoid. Farouk's a beautiful Arabian and a lot better tempered than some Arabians are and can be.

Really enjoyed that ride especially the trippy toes canter up the track. Really made me jump when he jumped sideways and you came off. Hope you were ok and not too badly hurt. x

Aye he flew out from under you! Didn't have a moment before Farouk was "somewhere else" and gravity took you to the ground. Oh my that was a surprise, OUCH. My bones are aching for you, remembering getting dumped myself. My twin and I were always trying to think up a way to keep us "with" the horse when they do things that have us parting ways so to speak... The only way I can prat on is because we are in the future and you are hale and hearty not a peep from you that this happened! You are tough Tara! I need to get in shape before I ride again...

Oh flippin ek Tara bet that knocked the wind out of your sails! Not sure but could tell u were annoyed the gate was overgrown with grass and u took a punt on giving it a shove with your foot which startled Farouk. Really hope you're both ok and u managed to hold onto the reins 😮

Just looked at that again....there was no overgrown grass...it looked like that big heavy gate had kind of dropped off it's hinges and was in any event worth a try to give it a big shove....however, Farouk said NO!!!!!!!

Step 1, Steve heads to the apothecary for arnica and pain reliever. Step 2, Rens can start the frozen pea packs and a poultice. Farourk gets extra carrots for not running off. And Tara goes directly to the bath, then bed. You have men to do the chores, bless them.

Hi Tara, I watched both videos before commenting so I know you were able to get back on Farouk. I hope you are not badly hurt. That all happened very suddenly! However I guess that is how it happens when you are riding and your horse makes a sudden, unexpected move. Hope there isn't too much bruising and aching in the coming days. Take it easy.

Cor blimey girl are you ok. I bet it's because the gate made quite a lot of noise as you tried to move it and you'd be leaning over to try and reach it. Have a good soak in epsom salts and rub lavender oil in you tail bone area. It will bring out any bruising. 😟

Yikes!, I hope you are ok, that must of hurt!. Luckily he stepped back away from you. I wonder, as you had to turn him away from the open end of the gate so you could get a better grip of it, he ended up facing the hinge end, so he didn't see your hand actually push it open, he only saw the gate start to move?, maybe that was what spooked him?. Just a thought, although I do think the plants at either end of the fence could be cut back a little to help it push open. I also noticed many overhanging twiggy branches on your latter rides that could also do with cutting back. These wouldn't be a problem for folks on foot, but on horseback could do some serious damage. Maybe a trip out on Apollo with a handy pair of secateurs is in order, lol. Or maybe a word with the folks who maintain the bridal paths?. Anyhooo, I hope you are well and thanks again for allowing us along, best wishes, cal ;-)x

Okay, now that you scared what few years I had left out of me! You did warn me that was coming, BUT you didn't tell that it was going to happen at a gate - and as a former hunter, when I saw you start to come adrift, I had visions of taking the gate on your way off! I'd straddled enough gates that I had visions of you bouncing off it, if not landing across it. Sorry to hector, but as a parent with children your age, you've never said if you tuck a cell phone in your vest? [Parents never stop worrying, even when it's someone else's child]. And, yes, I still remember that sooner or later we all come off, but it's much less nerve-wracking to do it than it is to watch someone else co mn e loose.

Oh, that shot looking up at your horse...a scene any equestrian can relate to. 🤪 As for the bind weed, we have that here too. Most of it grows on the edges of the corn fields. We get white, pink and sometimes purple. We have a lot of invasives that are awful to get rid of.

My Sorrel Appaloosa could jump sideways just like that and with no notice at all. Farouk has been through gates for as long as you have been riding him. He knows what to do and expect .... but ... when those hot bloods get in a mood and find an excuse .... they will always surprise you. I think Farouk is your very beloved stinker, of the three, at this moment. I have seen Apollo try you a little but he always settles into behaving .... Farouk .... well ... after all he is Arab Royalty ... he lives up to his name. Apollo is a god .. and behaves appropriately in all of his godlike required positions, and activities. He understands protocol. Farouk .... well .... he is a king .. afterall ...... I can't wait to see how Bella comes along ...... she does understand being beautiful. Tara, you may find a massage therapist to be a good idea.
