What I respect most about Malcolm X is that he was a man of faith and learning. He was always willing to correct himself once he achieved higher learning and he would seek the truth even if it went against people he called "friends".

@Dean Wayne I don't think he regrets anything that put him directly in his position... his very own words in speeches about the subject absolutely validates that. As many have said here, he is nothing more than a snake. One small example: In a speech to his followers he bashed Malcom for hours and tried justifying him being killed "any one of us would have killed him" because of this or that etc. etc. etc. Then went on to telling this fictitious story of a out of body experience where he heard elijah crying over the death of his son (Malcom)..... to which he responds "I will be your son".... Oh how convenient. Dudes about as fake-sneaky as they come but make no mistake about it loyal to >his< cause. You're right, Malcolm immensely changed and they killed him over it.... He called them out when they fire bombed his house just prior, if they didn't want shit happening to Malcolm.... they would have stopped it right then and there.... it was a organized series of hits, nothing more.

***** he's admitting that the words which he spoke in 1964 and 1965 and those which Malcolm spoke and Malcolm's devotees and other ministers of the NOI fed the climate of hatred and facilitated the eventual end which was the enemy's killing of our brother. When Malcolm's home was fire bombed he said,"I know the FOI did it. I know what they will do because I trained them!" What did you train them to do Malcolm? Complicit? The enemy of all of us wants us to be divided over this issue so that we cannot benefit from the truth in the message of the HEM. Love to you brother.

There can never be enough apologies to replace a human life that was taken through assasination. It is great for people to apologize, but an apologize is just words unless proven by action. What a tragic loss to lose a father. The memory of her father's loss could never be replaced by an apologize truly, but it shows she is courageous enough to even come and meet with someone who claimed a part of taking his life.

The power in editing. You can change the whole context of an interview just by editing and giving us 2 minutes and 39 seconds of a bunch of nothing. No matter how you edit, the government set up to kill Malcolm. They killed multiple members of the black panther organization, obviously Martin Luther King Jr, they killed hundreds of black successful doctors and leaders in the neighborhood of black Wall Street point blank range, they killed black military men by using them a front line defense, and they killed Dr. Sebi. I can keep going but let’s stop being simple minded. A killer doesn’t just wake up one day and say im going to stop killing.

what he admits here, that the title refers to, is that he called for Malcolm to be killed and then his followers killed Malcolm. That's all been well known for a long time, it was quite public. He apologizes carefully while speaking legalistically to avoid legal ramifications; he is very intelligent and exquisitely eloquent. That’s literally saying that he lead or encouraged others to commit an act of murder; sure, he didn’t pull the trigger, but his leadership encouraged other African-American men to do it (in other words, he gave the order for the hit, & some members of the N.O.I. followed them).

william skinner I would choose a different hero, while influential Malcom X was also incredibly radical and supported violent retaliation as opposed to nonviolent protests. He also wanted blacks and whites to live in a separate world from each other and everything he did undermined what MLK was trying to do. He did, however, boost support for King, as many who believed that racial injustices' time was up liked their odds with the nonviolent King over the incredibly violent and radical Malcom X.

"It doesn't mean that I advocate violence, but at the same time, I am not against using violence". After his trip to Mecca and he detached from the NOI, his preachings were totally different, he believed in every race living together in HARMONY and EQUALLY. To this day America is still not racially equal for all human beings. To tell someone to pick a different hero is something you have no right to say. Both Malcolm x and MLK preached the same things in different ways(Ying and yang) you need both for the perfect balance. Do some more research before throwing out MLK's name because in his last days before his assassination he said he underestimated the racism in America. Stop pulling out pieces of there teachings, pull out start to finish.

Malcom X was more dedicated on topics and issues then Martin Luther King and he also stood out more then Farrakhan; not like he was trying 2, but in reality, Malcom was just doing what he was taught and what he believed in! He might had stepped on Farrakhan's toes that might had gotten Farrakhan enraged to retaliate on Malcom. "They" felt or assumed that Malcom X was trying 2 get more credential and attention then the Nation. But that wasn't the case. Malcom knew his destiny and didn't care of anyone else assumptions about his goals and teachings. Malcom is obviously one of the few black and maybe the "only true" black leaders that ever lived! ------------> I can go on and on talking about real and meaningful topics and educational issues. MLK was very educated, had his PhD, and was offered a lucrative career. He refused and ultimately chose a path that he knew would lead to his death. What more dedication can one expect? He never partnered with scientology. I'm not putting anything above anybody. I haven't seen proper evidence on any of these claims against the NOI. Where is your proof the NOI murdered Malcolm? u have none. And Malcolm apologized after what he said and wrote a letter trying to get back into the nation. How could they work with the US government when the US Government used COINTELPRO to cause a separation between Malcolm and Elijah and to break up the NOI. they had agents in all black organizations. If the NOI did it or the Minister helped plot his death he would have been on trial for conspiracy. or something would've came up at some point about his death. the Minister also challenged the US government to open up the files on his death in order to prove his innocence. they haven't done so. either the government did it or the NOI did it. no inbetween. the government broke up the NOI and COINTELPRO main goal was to discredit Malcolm and Elijah and prevent the rise of a black messiah. u can look this up yourself. so u can't say the government helped the NOI kill him when they wanted to break up the NOI by taking out and/or discrediting the leaders. Dick Gregory said they were agents. Not NOI.Malcolm was also poisoned in Egypt, i guess the NOI had something to do with that as well.

However the more learn and uncover the truth about him you start to see him for what he truly is, a man who has used and manipulated people for his own personal gain his entire life.

Like Donald Trump. Dr. King is my hero, im white and I grew up in a "good ol boy" house. I resented my father & it was no mystery. At his death, I didn't participate in the decisions about disconnecting life support that was not my place. I also grew up with a good mother who taught me the Christian way. It was the 60s and when we took Irene home I wanted answers! I was 4 years old and Irene didn't have paint on her house or grass in her yard and I was very upset! I loved Irene like I Loved my Mother and my father's answers enraged me. When we got home I ran into the house slamming doors and only my Mother could comfort me. You see white women we're treated awfully by their husbands. It was alright to beat your wife and kids and to rape your wife. My Mother could appreciate the suppression of black people. Oh, Irene and her mother Margaret took care of us when my mother was at work. My father's sister was dismissed from Belks department store and oh that family was in an uproar! I couldn't understand why she didn't want to help the "colored" lady? My mother told me it was because they ( speaking of my father's family) are not nice people and they think they are better than the colored's but people are people and some are good and some are bad. In kindergarten, we sang Jesus loves the little children All the children of the world red and yellow black and white they are precious in his sites. This made me very happy! My father not so much but my Mother sang it with me. And I included all the children of the world in my prayers. When I was in 5th grade I had a best friend named Margaret and I thought she was the coolest! I was grown when I realized she was also the bravest. It was busing & they had put 1 little girl in the whole class right by herself, today I can understand how scary that must have been! What an incredible sacrifice her parents made so that kids today don't know what they suffered. I sit in tears because the haters keep hating. And I still don't understand. I feel the shame of hate but I too have been hated. I have been unjustly arrested. I have been fired so the new manager could hire her black friends. I have been accused of being racist. I see color and think the most beautiful people are the ones with light eyes and dark skin. The one's made by a black and a white person. In DC I was looking for a friend and described her as black and before I could get another word out I was hushed! Because for crazy reasons that I said made no sense to me because she isn't ashamed of being black and I'm pretty sure she's aware of it. I have seen too many good people assassinated while the likes of Donald Trump and Louis F. Live to pray on good people and breed hate. I hope before it's my time I can see an end to racism! Here and all across the world. In Africa still, they enslave and in south & middle America still, they are indentured to their Patron. Even the children are mistreated these days. I fear we are close to the end and much suffering will come to so many if they don't learn God is Love.

Okay, I see many took what he said out of context, as usual. I watched it with a neutral stance. He's saying 'As a People, we are responsible for our Brothers' death.' That's like if one of your friends kills a friend or neighbor kills another neighbor, he is saying, I feel part responsible, to lose a loved one at the hands of another loved one. On a deeper note: this is what is sad about the world, they filter any perspective, to make the message convey a totally different point then what was originally being made. Instead of attacking ANY Race/Religion, any opportunity we get, how bout we check that mirror first? That lack of knowledge called ignorance: is the root of all, envy, hate, crime, lust and greed, that will turn one against the other. Many don't want to hear this, but if you have a heart to love and seek justice, thru morality, you have to wake up. Humble yourselves, stop feeling entitled, with pride to be the hand of injustice. I feel responsible for all you slaughtering each other too.

I dont think the NOI or anyone saw what an icon he would grow into after his death.his death IMMORTALISED him.aint no one from the NOI comes even close to his level.if the NOI are responsible for his assasination, then not only did they shoot Malcolm but they also shot themselves in the foot.

So true Sam.Elijah gave him some truths but malcolm took those truths and expanded them with everything he'd learnt from his life experiences, from the books he read in prison as well as things he learnt on the go. The NOI and the whole planet had no idea who was being let loose out onto the world. Imagine if bad blood hadn't come up between the NOI and malcolm. You would have had Elijah,Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali together. How POWERFUL would the NOI have been with those three together at the top.

Thank you. I'm listening to what he is saying and it sounds like he is generally speaking about the black men in the nation of Islam. For example, when I say "we men are Playas by nature and love multiple women"... That's not me saying, I, myself indulge in being a Playa with multiple women.. I'm speaking from the standpoint of men who are playas

Hi 1Ataya. Farrakhan just stated the role he and others contributed in the death of Malcolm X. However the FBI will not come clean as to their level of involvement. Malcolm was feared within the hierarchy of the NOI even before the killing of JFK. They (NOI) thought that he might split the movement towards a more radical stance such as the Black Panther. My source is Elijah's own son. That is why when Malcolm X made is infamous speech about chicken coming home to roost in response to JFK's killing the NOI were quick to silence him. The US government did not fear the NOI until Malcolm took the time to make his pilgrimage to Mecca and also linked up with other African leaders. When he came back to America his thinking was clearly shaped with his exposure to world wide liberation struggles and he therefore aligned himself with them. This new thinking led him to form a new organization called The African American Unity or (AAU). His new stance was now a struggle for human rights rather then civil rights which would have serious consequences for the US government. Had he lived he would have taken the US government to the United Nations with the charge of human right abuses of their fellow African American citizens. Hence the US government complicity in his death.

My problem with this situation is that, when Malcolm X left the Nation of Islam and gave his criticisms of the movement, nobody started another Moslem organization that had the same sort of Black economic self-empowerment projects that NOI had. So even if Mr. Farrakhan is guilty and the NOI is to blame for the murder, it is still the only group of its sort with a substantial following.

Who here has read the autobiography of Malcolm X in its entirety? Malcolm was truly a force in Harlem. And before you start blasting, I heard and saw Malcolm preach on the northeast corner of 135th Street and 7th Ave. Both Malcolm and Martin knew they would be assassinated. The difference was by whom and why. I was there the night #7 was torched. To this day it would be interesting to know who started that fire and why it was started. If you haven’t been to the bar that was on 8th Avenue near 110th Street back in the day, don’t even bother to respond or comment because I will not answer. If you have been there, you know why.
