Hey Laini, this might be a me-problem, but since the brands you promote all come across as pretty high-end, I'm kind of shocked to learn that they do not have good ratings on Good On You. Including this one, as well as Sezane and a couple others. I know you mean well, just thought I'd mention it in case people don't want to support a brand that has a low sustainability/ethics rating. There's a lot of cool brands that do care about worker's conditions, the environment and transparency and you seem like the perfect person to discover and promote them.

Fortunately I'm really into suede/corduroy/bellbottom/bellsleeve/whatever and have a banging plasticy red coat to go with it, so I'm just committing to 60s/70s weirdo autumn and winter this year. Completely agree with the hair part, it can definitely make or break an outfit. I think this also counts for make-up: a lot of men say they only like "natural women" but as someone who has very light features and likes to wear deep, dark colors, it doesn't make sense to barely wear make-up with my outfits. A bit of eyeliner, for example, brings some balance to the entire look!

I am not sure I agree with hair matching the outfit. To me it’s all about the opposites, so if I wear something very boho I need contrast. If I wear a western inspired outfit I want my hair to be opposite of that. I think matching hair to outfit can quickly become really costume and that’s maybe not the look

We women need to to take our hair less seriously. I did the shaved thing a few times a few years back and loved it, just don't do it in winter if it gets cold where you are - headwear always looks cuter with a little something poking out from under it, and believe me you need headwear with a shaved head...since the buzz I haven't had hair longer than a bob, I feel most myself in a short 60s pixie these days! Hair grows back, do it!!!

V much agree with what you're saying abt hair and always still wanting to look pretty, but girl please also don't forgot the pretty privilege you have. With your face, yes, get a pixie cut that'll repel men, bc your facial and body features will still make it look passable. There's a difference between going for an anti pretty choice when you have enough prettyness going on to make up for it, vs going for an anti pretty choice when that thing was the main source of your prettyness. Regardless, yes to the sentiment of going all out!

The not having your hair match your outfit hurts because I wish I could have my hair match my outfit, but I can’t. My outfits beg for a cute little French bob with bangs, but I work with food and have to have my hair tied up and in a hairnet at work wich means that French bob I want just has to wait. It’s only a temporary job this year to save up some money for next year when I start studying so I will definitely get my dream haircut eventually, I just gotta be patient.

Buzzcuts rock!! I shaved my head at the end of 2019 and it was SO FREEING. I think it's something everyone should do once in their life :) made me feel so badass. Rocked a pixie cut afterwards, then had a bob & bangs for a WHILE, and a few years later my hair is down to my butt again lol. Considering shaving my head again in a few years!

I have had my hair buzzed or in a pixie for a long time and I loved it. You literally can't hide your face and that is nice because it forces you to accept your face. After a while, despite liking being androgynous looking some days, I didn't like that I looked like a boy on my worst self image days. I was slightly tempted to buzz my hair again the other day, but I have already decided to fully commit to a fairy-esque mullet and am trying to grow out my hair super long. Perhaps when I gain a more steady self image, I will try a pixie again :)

Yay, I put some french braids in my hair last night bc they went so well with the crochet details on my outfit! I love the idea of "committing to the cosplay" too! Milkmaid elements for Oktoberfest season sounds perfect! What if I don’t like doing crazy makeup. I am comfortable wearing the same makeup look with every outfit because I use makeup to enhance my features that I have taken along time to like. I don’t care if it’s considered clean or natural, it enhances my freckles, my nose and my eyebrows things I felt insecure about.
