It just said “installation stopped” for every game on my series x when I went to transfer them Edit: I had a couple games and apps that had to update when I turned my x-one on this morning, even though I updated everything before I went to bed last night. You should be able to use the external hard drives to transfer data. Even if for some reason they get deleted you can always redownload the games from the store and redownload the save data from the cloud. Hope this helps!

@@zelo487 I had an external so I just plugged it into my series x whenever I got it and I could immediately play all the games that were on it. If you don’t have an external, I’d recommend getting one if possible. There are some relatively cheap ones and it made it pretty easy. You can just move all the games that are on your console to the external drive and then plug the external into your new console and you’re good to go! Hope this helps

If anyone’s having the “Installation stopped” Error on their new xbox, I have a solution. This has happened to me and all you need to do is go to your original xbox one and make sure NOTHING is installing/updating. And if they’re any you must cancel them. After you’ve done that, your games on the series X or S should start installing.

I have a question so when I get the new Xbox series x I’m going to transfer everything to the Xbox but if I transfer everything over will I be able to transfer and still game shared with my friend or will have to get back into my old Xbox account and then transfer all the games

So is the Series X using the same formatting system as the One thus allowing one to simply unplug an external drive from the One and into the Series? That is the best option for me. Anything requiring me to download anymore than necessary over the internet is a problem. Home network fine, but if it is just using the old console as a list to tell the new console what to download from the internet then that is more than useless to me with extremely limited internet options

That I am not sure of that to be honest - I wanna say it takes the newest version. However when I transferred over a game then booted it up an hour later it downloaded a small update. But all the other games where fine!

If you have the cloud sync feature on it will bring over some data but not all that you may have collected on your last gen console
