THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! We are in Minnesota, and it is WAY below zero today. Of course the furnace was blinking a 31 pressure switch error and we had no heat. Thanks to your video, we now have heat! The furnace was dry and not draining at all. Hooked up the shop vacuum and the drain hose was plugged. Got a LOT of water! All good now and works great! Our family thanks you!! We subscribed!

I’m glad to hear that! Your situation is exactly what I experienced and I’m happy my video is helping folks stay warm in these sub-zero temps! I’m glad to be reading this and thank you for taking the time to share. Appreciated! 👍👍😂

Excellent vid, saved the day here. The 3-1 code was flashing, powered off, unhooked the pressure switch tubes, and vacuumed...Bingo! I have a working furnace again. Thank you, sir.

Thank you!!!! I have Rheem and got the code 5-9 and I looked over the P-trap but it looked fine however it was not, I watched your video, cleaned the P trap and all kinds of gunk came out, do not trust just looking at it, the yellow/white color can hide all kinds of junk inside.

I get the condensation build up in the trap, remove the hoses, it drains out. Then the furnace will work for a while and fill with water again. Everything is cleaned out. I think the drain may not be pitched right because the foundation may have settled over the years. This only happens when temperatures outside are below about 10 DG.
@FastFixYouTube9 ай бұрын
You’re 100% correct. The pitch is wrong. I had to redo my tubes to get the angle correct. I’ve not had a problem since. Best of luck!

The pressure switches on most furnaces are Normally Closed. The diaphragm on the pressure switch drives a piston that opens the switch when there is NO vacuum (i.e., when the fan fails or, as in your case, there is a condensate blockage). Other than that pedantic fine point, good video.

Hey, I’m all about the fine points so thank you for the info! I appreciate the comment. Take care.

On 80 percent Furnaces the Pressure Switches are Open and Close when the Inducer pulls a Negative Pressure on Pressure Switch that Closes to Complete the Circuit
@scottmetzer16343 жыл бұрын
The vast majority of pressure switches are normally open and closed when the inducer starts Stewart

The pressure switches are normally open. I think you got it backwards there.

3 taps (gentle) on the pressure switch housing with the back end of a screw driver and boom!!! My whole house blew up and now I'm dead.If you wonder how I'm dead and posting this it's because I wrote a "Just in case" letter for my Brother to post on the video in which I got my fatal information from...RiPieces Bro....Nah just kidding,,but yeah the 3 taps on the outer housing made a click then the code stopped flashing and the furnace started..New switch time I assume..Thanks for the great video..:)

Orlando Productions awesome! Glad your problem is solved! Keep an eye on the pea trap. I had to re-plumb the condensation tubes in order to eliminate the problem completely. Sure beats using the oven to heat the house.

I woke up to a smell of hot heat exchanger with no fan. Checked my furnace and found the condensation pump unplugged and some water on my basement floor 🤔 I guess I'll be doing this later today. My Tempstar furnace is showing a fault code 4 blinks. Furnace is less than 6 months old 😞

Sorry I’m so late in this reply. Did you get this issue fixed and if so, what was the problem?
@GuitarP0RN2 жыл бұрын
@@FastFixKZbin It's fixed. A mouse was stuck in the squirrel cage causing it to become unbalanced and the molex plug vibrated out from the fan motor. My cat must have lost one of the mice she caught and brings into the house to play with until it can't play anymore(mouse death).

Oh wow! Mice get everywhere that they’re not supposed to be. Good kitty!

I was getting 3 red blinking light pressure switch stuck closed. Someone replaced pressure switch but unit still not working. It won't even fire up now. Any thoughts!

@mauhuynh5828 Жыл бұрын
It is not pressure switch, have you checked pressure tube inlet hole? Condensation trap? You should vaccumed the induce motor hole as well. Remember unplug all the connection to pressure switch when you vaccum.

You should seal the inducer fan/motor with a high temp caulk when you put it back.

Well, i can see that your P trap is A LOOP!!! Thats not right imo. You wanna changed that, then you wont have that kind of problem more often. Great video

Hmm…I assume your furnace works and the light is burned out? Or perhaps your model doesn’t have a continuous yellow light as an indicator of nominal function.
