Archspire is the perfect combination of speed and melody. I feel most Tech Death bands can be fast but more chaotic/dissonant, which is also great, but the more structured melodies of Archspire makes the songs way more enjoyable in the long run.

Super excited for this album. They've already exceeded my hopes. They somehow got faster. Oh, and Dean mentioned that Oli (the vocalist) figured out a new vocal technique that makes the rapid fire vocals sound more robotic by closing his throat with glottal stops (I think that's the method, not entirely sure).
@metalconfucius43473 жыл бұрын
In this interview, with Nik N. I think, I heard the word 'inhale' twice....Oli should be clever enough to be aware of the risks doing it...if he can handle it, ok 👌

I definitely have to agree that this is a different style of tech death. The melodies will sound like "selling out" to some, but it just makes it so enjoyable to me. Their music is relentless and the slower more melodic riffs really have thei place to prepare you to the next onslaught.

My only con, which is a minor one, about what I've heard off of the new album so far is the sound balancing. Comparing Bleed the Future to Relentless Mutation or The Lucid Collective you can hear it: the vocals blend more with the other instruments making it harder to distinguish cues than before. Nothing has suffered, mind you...it just meshes a little beyond my expectations over the years and borders on what some would call muddy at times, more in Golden Mouth of Ruin than this one. I don't understand where they would get the lacking substance idea...every song's lyrics are a narrative to a story and I haven't heard anything from them that was "lacking" in terms of material.
