Thank you that is such a time saver I didn't know since I have to sketch large commercial properties!

I am new to using the app and was told with IPad Pro it will measure, sketch and import rooms into xactimate. I haven’t figured out how this works. A video on this would be awesome.

Hello Elena I hope you are having a wonderful day. I'm new to the Xactimate and I was wondering if by any chance can guide me in the right direction on how to connect; or how to sketch a two story home.
@EstimateMastery2 жыл бұрын
Yes! You need to control the elevation of each of your levels. So if you sketch the first floor at 100', and they only have 8 foot ceilings, the second floor would be 109'. These are just examples, hopefully that helps!

really like this tool. question on the roof overlay, wouldn't you need to add the floor heights in in order to capture vaulted ceilings and such? Again still a very green "rookie" adjuster. Thx
@EstimateMastery5 жыл бұрын
The room below would house the ceiling type, not the roof level, if that makes sense? Usually, when you add a new level above another level in Sketch, the program already accounts for a 9' space below when it adds the level above - does that help?
@callielou75 жыл бұрын
@@EstimateMastery It does, in this case I just started with the roof, on its own as mostly what I will be doing out here where I live is hail. But I need to get the floor plan sketch down so i will continue on. Thanks so much!
@EstimateMastery5 жыл бұрын
You can also use the tool when you create a roof Sketch first, to right click on the roof and choose Generate Levels (rooms) Below and it will create a footprint of the floor plan below and create a level below as well. Keep rockin it!

Nice, we don’t have another program that reads emailed plans that are sent to us so I generally have to ask for hard copies to get measurements the old fashioned way
@EstimateMastery6 жыл бұрын
Hope this helps with that Steve! Thanks for commenting :)

From what I understand you can take a photo of any set of plans use it as a JPEG. Then make sure you have measurements of two walls. I have used this method in the past and it is worked just fine !

Thanks for the great videos. I was wondering if there is a way to import sketches completed by mitigation companies into Xactimate? This would be a huge timesaver! Keep up the great work : )
@EstimateMastery6 жыл бұрын
Hey Sean! Thanks for the nice words on my vids! In response to your question, I would say ask for the mitigation company's ESX in order to import it into XM8 so that you can easily take their work and use it for your rebuild. Let me know if you have further questions :)

Is there a way to rotate a sketch to fill the whole page?
@EstimateMastery2 жыл бұрын
Hi Will! There is a small button in sketch on the bottom right hand corner that is a magnifying glass with four arrows pointing out. That will get the sketch to fill the entire window!

How do I get rid of the imported Jpg underlay once the sketch is done? I select print and it shows me the underlay jpg as the print layer?
@EstimateMastery3 жыл бұрын
Just click on the image below your floorpan and hit delete!

Hello, Thanks for the video. Do you know how to copy one floor to another without leaving the same values or items on the previous floor?
@EstimateMastery6 жыл бұрын
Hey Luis! You can copy and paste folders on the grouping tree, OR if you're in Sketch and have created the floorplan, you can lasso the floorplan and copy and paste into a new level. Does that makes sense?
@ChrisBowden1396 жыл бұрын
Has anyone figured out what the best resolution is for the jpeg image so that when you import the underlay it's still legible? I've found that with large blueprint images the underlay is basically unusable but resizing the image helps. Just trying to figure out what works best within the software since I can't seem to locate any specifics. Also, to piggy back off ofdereksdiatribe, I utilize Adobe Acrobat Pro and run the OCR tool which generally will straighten up your diagram automatically to provide that straight edge.

When I am setting the scale, I zoom in close to one end of the dimension line, click and then try to zoom out in order to zoom in very close to the other end of the dimension line. However, the Zoom Out jumps out as far as possible, the mouse wheel will not zoom either in or out, and the scroll bars snap back to the middle when I try to move them. In other words, I can not move in and out of my screen as easily as you do in the video. This makes scaling a struggle at best. Any suggestions?

I would recommend contacting online tech support at eservice.xactware.com and logging in using your Xactimate credentials. You'll then want to look for Live Chat and let them know that you're not able to save macros.
@jamesraines28094 жыл бұрын
This only applies if you HAVE an imported image or diagram most adjusters just have their dimensions and sketch to go by.
