True what you said,but I wonder if the stop sign was clearly visible... I know of 3 stop signs that you don't see them until you're 10 feet from them.One is hidden by another sign(casino sign) and one is covered in branches that you cant see especially in the spring/summer months,if they cleared the branches like 20 years ago it would be fine,but they rarely do any tree maintenance here these days..The other is on a hill,you crest the hill and boom stop sign,accidents there all the time... What you said is correct for 99% of the stop sign and road related accidents,people don't pay attention... Last month,I have seen 2 people arguing in a car and they ran a light and hit another car!! They were arguing as we were beside them at another red light and you can here them yelling/swearing at each other and the woman slapped the driver/her husband..Yes we stopped and were witnesses to the other party involved..Family in a minivan with a 6 month old baby!!! Luckily they were not injured! My Wife gave the red light runners a nice talking to,she gave them hell!!! They were apologetic and the guy was visible shaken by the accident,he was shaking and nearly crying!! I guess running a light/sign could happen to the best of us,depending on the day,how you feel etc...

@@01trsmar you need to watch and listen to the report again. The law officer states that the car was stopped at the stop sighn, then pulled crept out onto the other road.

My sincere condolences to the family of both the families of the driver and passenger. Also, may God give comfort and peace to the driver of the semi. This is a traumatic thing to experience. Praying for him also 🙏🏼

Can’t throw up stop signs everywhere there are wrecks. Maybe a flashing light and some signage that says cross traffic doesn’t stop….if it’s not there already.

You don’t need to put them everywhere, just where you have an obvious problem. If they’ll give me a ticket for 5mph over for “public safety” I think an extra 2 stop signs is the least they could do.

Happens all the time. Inattentive drivers talking or texting on their phones. And/or assuming a 4 way stop where it was only a 2 way.

It was a 2 way, and deceased driver chose to pull out into fast moving traffic. Feel sorry for the innocent passenger.
