I love the secret depth of Pluto Jackson. Where most people would just play the big tough jock as just the big tough jock, Joe plays Pluto as the tough jock when his friends or allies are around, but with a subtle sense of loss and confusion when alone. He needs his friends maybe even more than they need him, and it's a beautiful character played masterfully.

Love the fact that Monty is running a Faction Campaign and so keeps pushing the party to take sides which players often don't want to do (cuz roleplayers are paranoid about who will betray me in the end or who I should have pushed forward for a better ending) and keeps showing how morally gray the whole thing is cuz there is no "side" being completely fair or right
@RyanAcidhedzMurphy2 жыл бұрын
There is no such thing as morally grey. If you don't know what right and wrong are, then you either have a mental problem or don't have enough information. The Fallen Fire are crazy zealots following a doomsday cultist leader. The Sacred Flame and Silver Order are zealots and bigots. Neither are rational at all. Neither has anything valid to say, and no one should be listening to them or taking them seriously. The Flame/Silver Order didn't know what delerium could do, and technically since they've not actually been told about Sebastian's vision, they still don't. They just decided it was evil because it's arcane in nature, and they want to oppress arcane spell casters. They still don't have any clue what might happen, they just "have faith", which means they hope, what they want to happen, is what will happen. Faith is nothing but hope dressed up in fancy robes and lingo. Every step of the way both the Sacred Flame/Silver Order faction and the Fallen Fire have had a "my way or the highway" attitude towards everything. You can't negotiate with people like that. The Lanterns and Academy may have their faults, but they are at least rational and capable of being reasoned with. As for The Queen of Thieves, she's no better than the cultists.
@cdwarrior6582 Жыл бұрын
Morally gray is a good way to describe it. Lacresha Mathias is very much righteous and looking at the bigger picture but she is shortsighted on saving the current world first. The silver order see deliriums danger but not it’s potential as a resource. The amethyst academy however don’t see the full danger of delirium but do see it’s potential as a resource. The hooded lanterns just want to save their city, country, and world. The queens men want freedom to its fullest extent and to rewrite the edicts of lumen. The only side I can solidly say is 100% right is the hooded lanterns. I could see the lanterns working with anyone but the queen of thieves. But the rest of these sides don’t get along and siding with more than two of them is next to impossible.
@DGenHero Жыл бұрын
Its also fucking annoying though. No matter what the party does Monty invents two more enemies who lack critical thinking.
@drachimera8 ай бұрын
@@DGenHero I completely agree it’s always one step out of the muck and four steps in…. I try to just fast forward past the childish bickering and get to the next point where the plot can actually advance. If I had one bit of advice for Monty it would be that he doesn’t always need to be so confrontational with the factions. Now he is introducing another faction, the nobles, and the players haven’t even secured good relations with the silver order! They have to break with the academy and the cultists to join forces with the silver order and now a new hostile faction! Exhausting, I quit. Skip
@animatedpsychologistАй бұрын
@drachimera I very much appreciate finding your comment. While I'm not ready to skip through, the part about being less confrontational and not introducing so many complications so rapidly is exactly what is driving me a little batty and I appreciate you putting a name to it. I think another aspect bothering me with this episode is Monty's trying to go into a semi-Queen of Thieves style thing, the brash woman taking Kelly's character down a peg. But while that works really well between QoT and Sebastian, because Sebastian IS really arrogant and DOES need to be taken down a peg, Wilhelm is humble and thoughtful and she's not a good foil to him. The interaction is frustrating, because her quips are out of place with Wilhelm. He would just listen if you respectfully made your points and left. He keeps gently trying to close the conversation and she keeps ignoring it to deliver yet another bullet point from her dissertation about the nobility and delirium. For heaven's sake, Wilhelm is still actively losing teeth and nails! Read the room, lady! And, well, it was just a lot of telling instead of showing this episode. And I do appreciate some amounts of it, exposition has to happen, but this was the proverbial sip of water from a fire hose. We still are figuring things out with the Silver Order, a quick hint not to make a deal without talking to the nobles would've sufficed. It does make me appreciate how differently Kelly plays his two characters, though. I'd never get defensive of Sebastian, even if I still had the same issues with too much confrontation and too much being pulled back into the muck.

The offers and demands of the silver order though and roleplay of paladins is tottaly out of the roleplay. I mean the "Chief paladin" roleplay is tottaly against the Paladins. If I was a player (I use to play more paladins as a main pick) that "chief paladin" of the silver order would have a VERY HARD TIME if I was a player on the table. I mean the "chief paladin" sounded as he wants to slay all mageborns, that leave a STAIN to any Paladin.

Yah, and I think Monty has done a great job basically spelling it out for them without telling them out front that if you want to be King you're gonna kinda have to be King at least some times. Leading from the field without ever communicating with your "noble's" is a good way to get on their bad sides. They need to reach out as soon as possible or they're gonna have some Caesar situation. Lol. Edit: Maybe they should consider a "high council" to run everyday affairs for them that gives a report to Veo or Wilhelm for them to rule on bigger matters. Just an idea.

1:38:30 "I'm going to bow to her" Me, literally screaming at my phone, "YOU ARE NOT!" I am just very upset this woman comes in and starts lecturing and criticizing Wilhelm and putting all this onto him while he hasn't even had a night of sleep and _is still actively losing teeth and nails_! Without so much as a "Have I come at a good time?" Wilhelm will go out of his way to do the right thing for anybody except himself and it makes me feel very protective towards him.

The tyrant solution: Step 1: Call in the dukes in a weeks time. Step 2: Have Sebastian, Veo and Pluto assassinate Duke Fritz quietly and abduct his corpse (whether he is responsible for the attack or not). Step 3: Lock the doors upon arrival of the dukes, reveal the corpse and dozens of soldiers. Step 4: "You think I'm calling you in because I crumble before your grandeur, that I'm at your whim. Know that I'm not. No one is dissuading me on my path to save this world, not Duke Fritz, not the Elyrians. Be on the side of heroes, or be on the side of those who will perish soon."

That moment when Kelly was confronted with what a “cat”tastrophy his time as ruler has been and he ignores it and stays the course. Pivotal, his entire kingdom wants him dead except for skeletal band of friends in Drakenheim. The question becomes can Monty bend the facts and situation so much so that Kelly isn’t dead within the week? Can he not sacrifice the entire campaign and 2 previous campaigns for the sake of saving Kelly’s character? Or will the endless coffers and armies of his enemies magically defy the inevitable and fail to kill one man protected by a cat and a Caspian?

Those nobles are blinded about trading delirium. They don't want peace, just as the Silver Order(cause I smell they are using the golden delirium) Amethyst Academy and all others want either destroying (Silver Order want to destroy because they want to be the only ones who can use Golden delirium) or to be harvest and trade. Those fools they don't see the true danger

Dont take a loan from Aleria. Make them buy the rights to destroy delirium. That way you're still technically selling it and the dukes should be happy with that.
