I think its probably a case of the divine soul dragonborn they were fighting having true seeing. I dont think Monty would just decide to ignore Sebastian’s illusion unless there was a good reason, and its pretty clear the whole opposing party had high enough levels to pose a threat and he cast two twinned fifth level spells and a third level meaning he bare minimum was level 13 but never used a 6th level spell in the combat

Just a note. You cannot counterspell a spell cast through a magic item. So Sebastian's WoF wouldn't have been able to be countered. Also, Telekinesis is not twinnable. It does not have a target, but rather creates an effect, which can then target a creature or object. This disallows it from being twinned. In addition, the spell can affect multiple creatures throughout the length of the spell, which disqualifies it as well.

I have watched the most recent 8 episodes this season, and I am on 35ish of season 1. These were my first newer episodes with Drakkenforce....but still have 3+ years to catch up on. It is so enjoyable listening to/from work every day and some in evenings. I played in the early to late 90s and now getting into it again 20+ years later. You all are awesome!

Not seen the episode yet, I just wanted to say that Joe is one of the best role players I have ever seen. Honestly both Pluto and Wrath are such unique characters and he plays them both just so incredibly well. Pluto's kind of stupid but also at the same time sometimes genius style is not an easy thing to play. Also BELIEVABLE stupidity requires intelligence to do well. Wrath's sometimes so superior to everyone else attitude as if it's just so perfectly normal is brilliantly done. The way he can turn a really offensive statement into... I think, kind of a compliment...? Maybe? Is simply GENIUS!! All the while he himself feels completely inferior to his bloody cat. Cat, Wrath, Team, all other people in the world. That's the order of priority and he is not ashamed in the slightest. Love it!!! 💖🤣🙌

As always spoiler warning if you haven't finished or seen the episode yet! 0:00 - Introduction (as so the new book will be on kickstarter in a few weeks!) 2:27 - Title sequence 3:28 - Recap starts 5:05 - Recap ends 8:49 - The party didn't pick a rendezvous point (all part of the plan) 10:32 - Rolling d6's: Jill got a 6, Joe got a 4 and Kelly rolled 1 12:25 - -Sebastian- Jeremiah Dandy and Alaster Saturday continue their conversation 16:21 - Sebastian drops Seeming realizing this is a vampire den and they all know who he is 18:47 - Sebastian wants Alaster to cause a 30 Days of Night scenario, but Alaster suggest he go to St. Bartholomew's Cathedral 22:25 - Beware of fools who can't recognize a fight they can't win... like these guys 25:02 - Initiative is rolled 26:48 - Round 1: Wisteria the ranger cast Hunter's Mark on Sebastian and shoots him 3 times (1 being a critical hit). Sebastian cast shield taking the crit for a total of 30 damage 29:09 - Sebastian's shield catches all of Rohan the monks attacks 29:50 - Sebastian cast Wall of Force but it gets countered by Goldtooth the sorcerer. Sebastian summons Reaper to attack the monk but he misses (Sebastian could have cast Counterspell as he got his reaction back at the start of his turn) 32:49 - Anton the fighter attacks Sebastian, dealing 19 damage to him 33:38 - Goldtooth cast Last Rights (4th lvl, SCGD PG 190) Sebastian counterspells it. Saving him from taking 128 radiant damage and possibly dying 34:23 - Round 2: Veo and Pluto arrive on the scene 36:47 - Wisteria teleports to the rooftop to attack Veo 3 times. Veo cast shield taking only one arrow for 22 points of damage 37:58 - Sebastian doesn't catch Rohan's hands this time, taking 62 points of damage, but he makes the saving throw for stunning strike 39:13 - Veo Misty Steps to the roof and shoots Wisteria, dealing 24 damage to her 40:54 - Pluto dashes and then quick tosses the javelin of lightning at Anton who blocks the hit with his shield 42:56 - Sebastian cast Thunder Step and teleports to Pluto. Rohan takes the full 23 thunder damage and Anton takes half 44:01 - I swear I didn't offend anyone this time! I was just talking w/ a vampire 44:29 - Reaper misses w/ its attack 45:01 - Anton dashes to Pluto attacking him twice for 30 damage. He tries to disarm Pluto of Ignatius but fails 47:03 - Goldtooth twin spells telekinesis restraining Pluto and disarming him of Ignatius 49:42 - No Pluto, we have swords at home you can use 50:55 - At the end of the round everyone rolls d6's to see if they have been spotted by griffin riders, they are not 52:18 - Round 3: Wisteria hits Veo once for 9 damage (uncanny dodge) 52:44 - Rohan grabs Ignatius then uses step of the wind and then dashes, getting away from the fray 54:23 - Veo feather falls off the roof and cast hold person on Rohan, who makes his saving throw 56:28 - Pluto dimension doors to Rohan (and out of the telekinesis) then action surges successfully taking back Ignatius (dealing 18 damage to Rohan) then attacks Rohan w/ Ignatius twice dealing 51 damage to him 59:22 - Sebastian Vortex Wraps Rohan into a brazier causing him to take 5 fire damge 1:01:45 - Anton attacks Sebastian dowing him (no we just got him back!) 1:04:27 - Round 4: Wisteria shoots Veo getting a crit and a hit, dealing 50 damage to Veo 1:05:18 - Rohan burns to death 1:05:53 - Veo cast Zephyr Strike then attacks Wisteria, dealing a total of 34 damage to her 1:07:04 - The griffin riders don't notice the fight going on (even though the monk was screaming as he burnt to death 1:07:27 - Anton threatens Pluto, who threatens him right 1:08:43 - How to disappoint your balenore mother; die w/in 3 days of your ressurection 1:09:19 - Pluto throws the javelin of lightning at Goldtooth 4 times dealing a total of 50 damage to them 1:12:18 - Sebastian succeeds a death saving throw 1:13:04 - Goldtooth continues to hold Veo and Sebastian with telekinesis and moves inside the tavern 1:14:00 - Round 5: Wisteria misses all 3 of her attacks against Veo (she didn't account for the bobbing) 1:14:35 - Veo kills Wisteria putting an arrow through her throat causing her to fall off the roof 1:16:13 - Pluto deal 32 damage to Anton and convinces him to stand down, which he does 1:18:38 - Sebastian fails a death save (so at one success and one failure) 1:18:43 - Goldtooth releases Veo and Sebastian and cast revivify on Wisteria and Rohan (Combat ends) 1:19:55 - The rival party leaves but they will most likely be back before the party leaves 1:20:28 - Sick burns Rohan who gave them to you, oh wait... 1:21:31 - Good news, the plan is working. Bad news, I don't know why they attacked me 1:24:19 - Mr.Saturday sounds like a made up name. Oh, and Pluto Jackson doesn't?! 1:26:45 - Regular wine is okay I guess, but blood wine taste amazing 1:27:46 - The QoT appears and ask WTF are you trying to insight the war you've been trying to neutralize 1:32:24 - Expending lives runs up a serious tab and someone has to pay it eventually... 1:34:29 - Sebastian tells Kat that he freed Mouse's soul 1:37:47 - The QoT is a monster but not in the way Sebastian is (or will be) 1:39:47 - The QoT will be watching, but when is she not.. (they need to invest in amulets of nondetection or rings of mind shielding) 1:42:00 - It's not keeping secrets if you don't feel like sharing 1:43:29 - The perfect plan to deal w/ the backstabber. Stab them before they stab you then runaway! 1:44:14 - Drakkenforce heads to St. Bartholomew's cathedral, game ends 1:45:28 - Shout outs and patrons

This was so awesome! Way back in episode one of DoD I wondered what I'd play if I was the 4th member of drakkenforce. I decided on a kensei monk and have followed the show the whole way through with him. Now Monty makes a mirrored party with a monk! Unreal!

50:20 this is what happens when player characters fall to main character syndrome. Pluto got told he'd probably get targeted for Ignatius, still brought Ignatius with him, and then he got upset when it was stolen smh (Joe was a good sport about it though)

Twin spell just lets you target an additional creature or object w/ the cast spell not double cast a spell.

Twinning a concentration spell doesn't require you to concentrate on two spells. As long as the spell targets only one creature and doesn't have a range of self you can twin it.

@@micahpatton7397 yes (this is from the spell text); “if the object is worn or carried by a creature, you must make an ability check with your spellcasting ability contested by that creature's Strength check. If you succeed, you pull the object away from that creature and can move it up to 30 feet in any direction but not beyond the range of this spell”

@micahpatton7397 Well you can target a creature or object with telekinesis. But, twin spell specifically states you have to target a creature and then can affect a second creature with the same spell.
