For the algorithm; I have really enjoyed Monty’s reworked Aboleth and now, explaining how it’s “cut off from death” etc. Thematic to the duchess AND to the Aboleth, all at the same time. Well done good sir, well done.

I love how Wrath casually glosses of the scoll of Power Word: Kill he has, despite it being the perfect spell for the situation they are in. It just depends on how Monty wrote the Dutchess's regeneration. If it is worded like the troll (The troll dies only if it starts its turn with 0 hit points and doesn't regenerate), if it only applies when at 0 hp or just prevents death, Power Word: Kill would circumvent it entire. Or at least that what Jeremy Crawford said when asked about PWK vs a troll. That scroll should totally be plan A Edit:ok nvm, they addressed it LMAO, leaving the comment up for the algorithm

I understand the in character reasons for Rudy to take Wrath's immovable rod and Pluto to take Veo's, but swapping across players like that made me chuckle. Edit: Monty put on a masterclass of working with your players. The teleportation discussion was something a lot of DMs would have just shut down with "that's not how that works RAW, no". Giving them a cost and a tradeoff for one specific situation like this is a great way to do it. Taking notes.

Shape air or any other element and make a place without water... As simple as that. Size could create some problems, but there should be ways to enlarge the area. Large enough air bubble in the bottom of the ocean and you have some advantages from it. Like, not needing swimspeed...

I take that the Dutchess has say ten interdementional tentacles. Destroying one will severly weaken her ability to operate in thar world and possibly reduce her permanently to nine and she couldnt recreate such a strong presence bridge into this dimension without say using two more tentacles or withdrawing from other worlds.

I recently encountered a truly terrifying monster last weekend. This thing doesnt have a stat. It steals the players’ stats. In order to kill it you have to kill it = to the amount of players. If they dont want to fight it all they have to do is just give up a memory.

The last time these guys squared up against The Duchess it was literally just a psionic echo and Sebastien died to it (thus why he’s a lich now). You can kinda tell just by how much prep they spent in this episode getting ready to fight the duchess that even with 6 of them they’re worried about how they can take her out

Hey Dudes, dmg record should be around 310dmg from Wilhelm. I love your show. Awesome DMing Monty. I think Kelly missed a lot of dice on his damage record. 😮 204 was correct but then only 235 total? You would have needed to roll only 1 and 2 on all the dice and I would expect that much bad luck to be commented 😉 It should be 6d6 + 16d8 for 4 Attacks if I understand the math for the 204 flat dmg correct, and that the Kingblade does 4d8 dmg on a hit. That should be an average of 21+72=93 Plus 204 Plus 13 for the crossbow. So the record would be around 310dmg. Might have been that Joe said 4d8 plus 6d6 but that would have been just the one sneak attack. And then you missed the other 3 attacks? 1:41:06 You have probably beat the Duchess by now and I am looking forward to to next Tuesday, but maybe you just want to reassess the dmg for the record. 😊
