I’m not sure what Jeremy uses but I have a rio gold brilliant line and it’s about half a line weight heavier so I’d stick with a 7 on a 7

I’m looking to get a rip gold fly line myself, was Jeremy’s one a 8wt on his 7wt rod or a 7wt line on a 7wt rod?

It's a 7wt rio. It was on a 6wt rod in this video but stick with a 7wt rod. No need to overline when it comes to rio's brand of lines.

I'm a new fan to the channel. I'm primarily a stillwater guy, and I have a question for lake fisherman in England and elsewhere..Why aren't there float tubes or pontoon boats in any of the videos I see from European fisherman? Thanks! Love the channel!!

Thanks 👍. Float tubing hasn't picked up the same way as it had in europe just yet. Potentially because many fisheries still don't allow it for healthy and safety/insurance reasons. But it's slowly growing with popularity, especially with pike anglers 👍

When do you prefer to use a blob on washing line versus a blob with booby foam eyes ? Am i right to think the regular blob(without foam) sinks gradually so i guess its a methot for depth in between the method Jemery used with 3 buzzers and a washed line with a blob with booby eye ?

We rarely fish a slow sinking blob if i'm honest. It usually always a fab or booby. We occasionally fish weighted blobs under a bung in winter but thats about it

Midge tip versus straight floating, Rhys? Does the midge tip give you better contact?

All depends on the day. I switched from the midge tip to a floater because 1) jerry was tanking me 2) the depth of water/wind speed didn't suit a sink tip at that point in the day

Wow, what a fishing session, they must stock the he'll out of your fisheries. In Australia we do not have these sort of fisheries, where you have to pay to fish, in saying that I would be on that water every day to have a chance at a those fish. Must of watched all your video at least 3 times each. Love them, and have been working hard in using your tactics here. I'm sure I will get into the swing of things this spring !

A little confused, as one of the videos you said you must keep the buzzers static. But sometimes 5 slow retrieves then let them be. Can you please explain why this video was different. And how do you know they were on buzzers ?

@@michaelarundel8129 both methods work. Adopting the 5 figures of eight rule is a second resort when you simply can’t buy a take fishing the flies perfectly static.

Mixing it up on the day seemed to be the answer. Some took dead static and some on occasion took it as your introduced movement on the flies

Sut wyt ti Rhys, just wondering what sort of lengths you tie your droppers in at? I tend to tie them 2-4 inches long and 5 foot apart as usual but have recently started to question if I am tying them too short? Would value yours and Jer’s opinion or suggestion, Diolch mate

All a matter of preference honestly. I like mine around 6inches. 2/3 inches is too short for me personally but if you have confidence in it, stick with what you prefer 👍
