We built this traditional cedar log cabin, mostly in our spare time! It's been a labor of love, with many challenges along the way, and we loved every minute of it! For years, it's been our dream to build our own cabin, but we grew tired of dreaming, and so we decided to make it happen. This is our journey... Thanks for joining us! :)

I’ve seen a lot of cabin building videos but this cabin is definitely most sustainable. You didn’t compromise on quality and as a HSE professional i really appreciate how you maintained safety. Ear muffs, respirators, harness and life lines during roof work. I really appreciate that ❤

Quality is so obvious . The sound of the door closing on a well made car, the sound a folding knife makes when you close it . Things like this show what it takes to be dedicated and have pride enough to do something correctly . That is exactly what I see when watching these two true craftsmen at work . Something as simple as watching a log which has been prepared with groves fall into place around the windows and doors makes it a delight to watch your videos , I am so glad I found the videos and look forward to watching all of them . This is what I call entertainment . Not the trash shown on Network TV which try’s to pass as entertainment, Thanks guys

I came across this video, my parents live 300 miles away, and they are down for Easter. My dad is 79 years old this year, a man who was not to many years ago very hands on, could do anything regarding building. So, tonight we have watched the first 40 minutes, and we will come back to watch the rest tomorrow evening when the house is quiet and we can talk while watching this. Absolutely fantastic, a great memory for you, and also for myself watching this with my dad!

I have not missed a single episode of the cabin build so far. When I saw this pop up this morning I thought to myself its a great day to throw on my outsider shirt, sit on the couch for a few hours and watch it all come together. Although I liked every episode that you put up, having it all together for 1 video was truly awesome. I love the relationship between you and Senior Outsider. You know exactly what the other is thinking. I can't wait to see the inside build and it all come together. Thank you for this. Can't wait for the next episode.

I live in Québec, in Montréal, in Terrebonne, on “Rue D’angora” and here we live near a construction site that works 24/7, it’s crazy to see the amount of effort for all this to come together as only 2 people. As here they’ve built 2, 12 story buildings named “Tour Cachemire”, and “Tour Cachemire 2” taking them each 6-8 months to be built (though the first one took 5 years, I live in it), it’s crazy! I just stumbled upon this type of content, and i’m already hooked. Nice work, love the cabin already.

I just want to thank you both for a really great way to spend a few down hours during what has been a really tough week. My dad passed away 5 years ago on the 3rd of March and I've been really struggling to pick myself up and simply get through the day. My dad thought me so much about construction, love and respect for the great outdoors, and the importance of family but I never got to truly appreciate any of that with him as I have gone from a 19 year old college drop out to a 25 year old, self-employed general contractor since he's been gone. Again I thank you for this video that I'm sure I will be revisiting whenever I feel like I need a moment of down time with my dad. Bless you both, Andrew from Michigan. 🙏

This is my first video of the Outsiders that I've watched. Was just doing some KZbin surfing when I came across this video and started watching it to the end. I loved seeing you two working together on building you and your DAD'S Dream Cabin. I do love watching these kinds of videos this is my first cabin video to have watched. I watch a lot of the bush building videos where they build everything from bamboo. My children's father is a carpenter and I have seen a lot of his work before and after. I'm sorry to hear about your father's passing may God Bless You and your family during this time of sadness. My prayers are with you all. The building of this cabin will be with you forever. It was a joy to watch the two of you together. It's all the personal things that we hold onto that we shared with the loved one who is no longer here. Watching you and your Dad made me think about my grandmother and all the things I did with her growing up that I still today treasure. God Bless 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I rarely post comments, but for this one I had to! You don't fully understand how much work you have to put in to create such a beautiful cabin, until you see it. Compared to other similar videos, you can clearly see the attention to detail. Hats off to you, for your dedication!

Holy cow - SUCH meticulous work!! And using proper safety equipment, which is hardly used on other channels! VERY well done and thank you for sharing with us! You've given me a lot to think about for when I build my own place (80% underground) and I just hope that my late Dad would be proud of me when I do.

I remember watching you build the small cabin before starting this, as well as other nature type video's. You have done so much, and this cabin build has been so awesome to watch. I am 50, and when I was a kid, my grandpa built a log cabin for my aunt to live in with her husband and my cousin. The cabin was never deeded, but my uncle still lives in it, burning wood, and using propane and electric hook up. My aunt and grandparents are gone, along with my parent's, but this just takes me back. My grandpa was in the battle of the bulge, and he could make anything. God bless you and yours. Get ready for the storm that is coming, because it's about to get tough.

So awesome to watch you and dad build this home. No team, just the two of you. Literally from scratch, from the trees you felled, creating sections of lumber using your sawmill, and then building it utilizing a variety of methods/tools. That kind of skill, ingenuity, and strength is impressive.

wow! first time watching and I watched this entire video all in one sitting. I could not stop. The most thorough, intricate, PATIENT build I have seen thus far. You two are CRAFTSMEN!. The cupolas were an awful LOT of additional work, but they sure are cute. I am amazed. I live in Southern California and I'm an old granny. I wish I had enough years left in my life to have a log cabin like that in the woods. And someone nice to share it with.

Looks like the tried and true traditional way of building a cabin, probly good for 200 yrs. Great vid, great content, great editing. What a beautiful job guys. I was so impressed with your precision measurements so that everything fitted just right. I was fascinated to see what looks like 2" thick styrofoam for insulation too. That stuff is so light to handle yet it would insulate well. Your use of pulleys and winches was great to see too. I'm no builder, just a music teacher, but I was glued to your video all the way through. Many thanks and what a dream build that will hold so many great memories for you both.

I'm half way through this video and have thoroughly enjoyed every second. The precise measuring, cutting and tidy work you do is amazing. The location is gorgeous. The connection you have with each other and how you work so well is a joy to watch. My Dad died on Father's Day, I miss him so much. He was a self taught builder and some times we'd come home from school there'd be a piece of furniture or a bed had been made through the day lol. He made our kitchen, beds, wardrobes etc. He may be gone, but we have a lot of things in the house he built and will treasure forever. Building things with a parent is the BEST. Best wishes from Australia.
