yeah, when I got to this point (father boss) I sucked so hard I rage quitted, and havent't toutched the game for about 3 months, then I tried again, and after 4 tries I finally did it. So don't worry, you are not the only one who sucked at this part.

The combat system wasn't properly introduced to the players. I actually learned some new moves a while ago for the trilogy video that I didn't know before. It was very limiting to fight this boss.

I beat the fight with 1 sliver of health so 1 hit kill if I got touched, it was hard as shit.

Jean Thomas I don't know. It worked for me. Just keep jumping over him and attacking him. Or just jump over him constantly without attacking him and after doing that for 3 times finally jump again and attack
