Really enjoying your reactions guys, great rapport too which is so nice to see. Would have loved to have done this with my daughters, instead they got their classic rock chops in the car !! You're spoilt for choice with Queen but live is best so how about: 'Father To Son' Live at the Rainbow 74' (rocks heavy and is somehow appropriate), 'White Queen' from the same Rainbow 74' gig (ethereal and heavy) or later Queen from Wembley 86' where I was lucky enough to be: 'Under Pressure' is fantastic.

I was never a big fan of Queen but do recognize that they were definitely one of the best live acts ever. If you want to try doing something completely different how about reacting to James Corden doing Carpool Karaoke - he had many famous guests including Paul McCartney and Elton John.

Looking for a new one? I got one you guys may like since you like Pink Floyd and this one reminds me of them. It's "Travel" by 'The Gathering'. The guitar and vocals in it are amazing, and it has the kind of slow, trippy sound to it. I won't spoil anything about it beyond that. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oaaceZqpeMSlY80

As far as best frontmen discussion goes you should each do a countdown of your top 10 frontmen. I would rank them as follows: 1 Freddie Mercury 2 Robert Plant 3 Mick Jagger 4 Ozzy Osbourne 5 Roger Daltrey 6 Bon Scot / Brian Johnson 7 David Lee Roth 8 Steve Perry 9 Geddy Lee 10 Ian Gillan

Freddie and Queen were in their day the unspoken Bain in the existence of every musician working at the time. They were what all bands strived silently to be , but didn't have the chops to acquire. Freddie was a true showman in EVERY sense of the term. His classical sensibilities in music and theater / film ,gave him a unique understanding of what SHOW really meant. He had an almost supernatural ability to draw the audience into his moment , and take them along for the story .I have seen many great performers over the years, but cannot name ONE OTHER , that had the magical mixture of pure unbridled raw talent, charisma, and theatrical genius that Freddie had. I watched queen live in The Blossom music center in the late 70,s (Cleveland Ohio) I was a HUGE Queen fan since 1975 as a young kid, but to that point had never seen them Live. By the end of the show I was speechless...I went home , picked up my guitar and began playing , and never put it down. I have over the years played in many bands, and done studio work etc.. but never anything famous unfortunately..but regardless..it was Queen who showed me , that there is more to the world of POP music and Rock, than the tired old blues influenced stuff being hashed over and revamped for the rock generation.. Here was True creativity that wasn't afraid to risk being uncool , to make the world see true musical Genius applies to rock too..not just classical music .

For me Freddie is the best front man ever, Queen are best seen live and are in a league of their own they are rock royalty. It brings joy to me when I see a new generation love Queen Like the fans that have loved them from the beginning they truly are legendary covering every genre of music. Queen are my favorite band and have been since I heard them for the first time when I was 15 yrs back in 1991. Freddie definitely left us too soon.

Just to let you know. He had one beer on the piano. Freddie had a history of polyps in his throat. It was a chronic issue even before he became ill. There were several cups with a honey and lemon mixture for him to down a shot of to soothe his throat along with water also. Everyone jumps the gun commenting on all the “booze” on the piano during his live video performances. BTW it is Rogers face on his drums. React to Now I’m Here live at Wembley 1986. Springsteen better than Queen????? Oh I’m laughing!!!!! You should do their Live Aid performance 1985 which is still ranked number 1 rock and roll live performance!!

Freddie was amazing - but all of Queen were. Queen was a band of musical geniuses. All of them multi instrumentalists, all of them were fantastic singers. All of them wrote music. Queen will always be my favorite band and in my eyes they're the best band there ever was. That being said: "Freddie is better than Springsteen" - I agree but this is music and not a competition. It's all subjective and a question of taste. There's no objective measurement for "greatness" and who is better

Thank you. Winds me up that they don’t give Deaky, Rog and Bri enough credit. Freddie always said “ I’m not the leader of the band I’m just lead vocalist “
@saschaschneider6355
@saschaschneider6355 4 жыл бұрын
@@VincitOmniaVeritas. the problem is (and will always be) that Freddie simply overshadows them. With his stage presence. With his charisma. With his playfulness. I think all of them have made their peace with that a long time ago. It's just the way it is. I still like to point out how great every single one of them was and is. Like Deacy, who was laying down the grooviest and most recognisable bass lines, certainly one of the bass GOATs. But he was much more than that. He built an amp for Brian May. He played an album all by himself, every single instrument on it. And I think he very much preferred Freddie to overshadow him because he preferred to do his magic in the background, Or Roger, who has an even wider vocal range than Freddie had. Especially regarding the whistle register. The very very high "Galileo!"s? Roger Taylor, ladies and gentlehobbits. He also had his own bands where he for instance played guitar and was the lead vocalist. And then, last but not least, Dr. Brian May. Astrophysics PHD and winner of every Sir Isaac Newton lookalike contest ever. Who is a true guitar genius, who always plays exactly what a song needs. Who built his own guitar as a kid that he still is using over 40 years later and that contains features that are considered to be groundbreaking and "modern" for guitars today. Even today guitarists are still chasing his timeless guitar tone at the edge of breakup. They're also a band where everyone wrote at least one #1 song. Every one (except John Deacon because he hates his singing voice) was lead vocalist on some songs. The well-know role distribution also mostly happened during shows. When recording or writing songs it was way more fluid. Sometimes Deacy would drum, Brian May took up the bass and John Deacon played the guitar. Or John Deacon played guitar, Brian May would drum and Roger Taylor took up the bass. Or any other variation.They even had Freddie at the guitar sometimes although he himself said that he could hardly play it. And the above only scratches the surface, there's always so much more to learn about this truly exceptional band

Sascha Schneider Each and everyone of them had their quarks, what made them unique. There a reason why Freddie was Rog and Bri’s fan before he became a band member. Don’t get me wrong. Freddie has had part of my heart for nearly 4 decades (don’t you dear try and calculate my age 🤫😜) but with the new people joining the Queen family I think it’s important to give Deaky, Rog and Bri the respect that Freddie gave them. No an option, a fact. They cared and respected each other. Simple.

Melechesh - Multiple truths next pls ! Its a rare hidden gem that sets a high standard for the very band that created it. It's a very tasty and fascinating mix between beautifull melodic lines and mystic a thmosphere and sick heavy riffage. The thematic and lyrics are at least as fascinating and they quite well balance the message with the instrumentation. There are definitely black and death metal influences but that's doesn't really tells you a lot about their sound. Can't wait to see you reaction !

I'm a massive Springsteen fan and seeing him live so many times but comparing Freddie ....sorry Bruce .......Freddie was in a league of his own, however, Bruce is up there. If you can react to it without being copywriter, I recommend light of day, live at new york madison square garden. That is probably Bruce at his best and show his command of an audience and having them in the palm of his hand and a lesson to all performers how to put on a great show. Love watching your banter together. Really touching. Glad I subbed.

Freddie had no formal training in singing or music. Some piano lessons in boarding school but he could not sight read music at all. If he heard a song once he could play it and he composed in his head then took it to the piano. His education was in design but he preferred music as did the others in the group. All have college degrees, Brian May the guitar player has a PhD in astrophysics, Roger the drummer a degree in biology and was in dental school when he opted to do music instead and John the bass player has a degree in electronics. Talented band to be sure.

I know it's subjective, but I agree with the son here. Freddie was the superior frontman. He was also a better singer and songwriter. Springsteen was certainly a pack of energy - his shows could run ridiculously wrong and he did write some good songs. My favorite of his is probably Atlantic City, but I prefer The Band's version. My favorite Springsteen song that he does is probably I'm on Fire or Tunnel of Love. But man, I just can't agree on Springsteen being a better frontman. But that's me!

Freddie is just powerful. Him and the band are great artists, and Freddie honed so many crafts of music so well. Incredible. I do need to check out more Queen, too. Muse are one of my favorite groups, and I can't get over how much Matt Bellamy (vocalist, pianist, guitarist of Muse) took after Freddie Mercury with his style of vocals with falsetto, his piano skills, the mannerisms and energy from the way he commands a stage. Might have to request some Muse down the road. In the meantime, the correct answer to best front man is Trent Reznor (In my opinion. Hehe. :P ). If you do a discussion video, I just wouldn't want it to devolve into a heated argument. Everyone has opinions, and when it comes to music there are hardly any right answers due to an immense variety of personal tastes.

@@fatherandsonreactions Thanks man. lol As always, glad my paragraphs make a good read. :P Oof, there's a lot I can suggest for Muse, but here's a couple off the top: Muse - Knights of Cydonnia (live at Rome Coliseum). It has a decent mix from some of their experimental and rock side of the group, so it's decently balanced. Plus this is a popular song, and reaction request, for many other youtubers, so you'll probably get a good amount of people to check it out. But..... Even though the live version of Knights of Cydonia is a very good suggestion, I think you'd be more blown away by their song "Stockholm Syndrome." It's the more rock-ish and bombastic between the two, and it's up there with one of their best songs imo, but I have to explore which live version I think would be best (unless you choose to listen to their studio version, which is fine too). But again, Knights of Cydonia is a very good suggestion as well I think. But there's so much more I can suggest, since their catalogue varies pretty widely from experimental rock, to rock combining electronic music. Every album has a different sound to it (which makes some Muse fans a tad frustrated, but I like the variety). There are songs where Matt imbues piano, and some he doesn't. Some with synth, some without. They're pretty eclectic, but as I said, I enjoy that about them. Two sweet things about Muse. They currently hold the record for most guitars smashed during a tour at 140, during their 2004 Absolution Tour (Stockholm Syndrome is on that album, as well). Also, their live performances tend to be pretty insane in some way, whether it be the set, or the theatrics (Matt Bellamy wore a robot suit during his Simulation Theory (album) tour. He let drones loose at a concert during his Drones (album) tour). Also, I don't think you should expect Muse to be like Pink Floyd. Their closest comparison is being called the closest modern day band to Queen, but I'll let you guys judge that for yourselves if you get around to a few songs (I think it's close).

I really don't get you reacting to Queen if you already know a lot of their songs. The fun of reaction channels is having people hear songs for the first time that the viewers have known and loved for a long time. If I want to watch a live video of Queen, I can go on youtube on my own and watch it. We don't know what you heard or haven't heard, but A Kind of Magic was the last album that had a live tour attached to it. Freddy was already sick when Queen recorded The Miracle, so nothing from that is live with Mercury nor is anything from Innuendo. Of course, Made in Heaven was made after Mercury was deceased. Another issue is that Queen released a lot of live albums, so a lot of what you see on youtube is live music with no video to go with it. All that said, I will suggest Play the Game live in 1982 at the Milton Keynes Bowl in the UK. I'm just taking a shot that you don't know the song. kzbin.info/www/bejne/goLUeY2YZseSldk

Great reaction as always,Queen are one of the best bands ever! I think the photo on the drum kit in this video is John Lennon. Roger Taylor used to put his own photo on there so everyone knew it was him was playing the drums(!) but then in the 1980s he started using John Lennon's picture as a tribute according to stories at the time. Freddie Mercury is really,really great but,sorry, I must agree that Father is right...Bruce is even better than that!😈 Now that I've upset half the team(!) I would like to say that the idea of doing a live stream discussion is a great idea.

There's no accounting for taste,. Look, some people prefer Justin Bieber over Freddie, others Bruce Springsteen. If one however wants to point to objective criteria, I don't think there's any question that Freddie Mercury beats Bruce Springsteen by any metric whether in terms of influence, popularity, songwriting abilities, showmanship vocal abilities, among others. This has to be acknowledged just in the same way that any queen or Freddie found would have to acknowledge that someone like Usher is a better dancer and mire highly skilled dancer than Freddie Mercury was, although I suppose it's open for someone to opine that they prefer Freddie's dancing

I agree with your son, Freddie is the best frontman ever. I know this is something very different but there is a male vocalist with Freddie and Michael Jackson's envergure and it is Dimash Kudaibergan. If you do react to him try SOS d'un terrien en détresse from the I am a Singer 2017, try to find one with English subtitles because the song is in French. This young man presented a French song to a Chinese show where nobody knew him, nobody understand the lyrics and yet he blew them away, that takes balls. Warning ! If you do listen to him, there is a great chance that you will become addicted to him. And if you want suggestions for more Queen, you will have a hell of a choice. From their 70's era Stone cold crazy, Liar, In the laps of the God live at the Rainbow. From the 80', the whole Wemblay's concert is great. Enjoy!

Incredible performance, yes, and if that's all you wanted to see, fine. But I really dislike this version because it bastardizes the sound of the original audio version. I hope you'll take the time to listen to that too.

@@fatherandsonreactions - That's great, if you already know the songs, the live versions are icing on the cake! I was fortunate enough to have seen them live in about 1982, incredible show.
