we just are starting to use these testers.. still kind of a struggle to get good PE test to the panels construction. as the inverter is not always in range of the panels..

I guess it measures the voltage between the conductors and earth to work out where the fault is? If that's the case I wonder how it copes with two earth faults. Might be interesting of @eFIXX causes two or more faults in their setup as a test. Wouldn't it be fascinating if it can detect that and report each fault separately.

schafft es nicht. kann es logischerweise nicht. habe dazu auf der intersolar München nachgefragt. nur ein Modulfehler ist erkennbar

I saw a g/y conductor on the roof. If it is a functional earthing it is not allowd to be g/y. Greetings from Sweden.

Sir i have query regarding mine 5kv solar on grid plant, mine system beep when i wash my panel or when it rains, after 3 to 4 hour sunshine plants become normal and start functioning. Sir need help how to find the error and how to rectify it. Thanks.

There is a big issue on PV installation and measuring Riso, when grounding dont have continuity between all the panels the measurement is not trustable, advised is to use poking clamps between panels, so they poke trough anodised surface of the panel.

I can see how a penetrating clamp would give conduction between the panels but not how it would give good conduction to the rails. It's a requirement here, Australia, that removing any single panel must not disrupt earthing of other panels. The penetrating washers that sit between the panels and rails achieves both conduction between panels and connection to the rails to ensure everything is tied together and removing one panel does not disrupt overall earthing. Nothing wrong with a belt and suspenders approach and using both of course.

@retrozmachine1189 I'm with you man, there is no good solution yet, here in Europe almost 90%+ parka builded wrong, no poking clamps no ground continuity beyond secon panel. I Have HT pviso meter, but when ground is not continued it shows always >100MOhms

I call it earth or ground depending on my audience.

If installers would connect an earth cpc to the roof moutings then this test could be done easily
