omg when the faux fur trim was laid out in 3 rows at 3:20, it reminded me of when Patrick star used tape to rip off Sandy Cheeks fur to wrap around his head!

Hey Sorry Girls! Love you guys! Just FYI I work in Costuming and the best way to cut fur is with a razor blade or a exacto knife. All you need to do is to cut though the backing, this way you don't cute the pile/fur itself. it also makes it a lot less messy.
@TheSorryGirls8 жыл бұрын
This is a really good idea! Thanks!!
@kittysushi99158 жыл бұрын
The best way to cut faux fur is to use an X-acto knife and lightly cut just the bottom layer of fabric! This way you don't cut through any fur because only the fabric is getting cut c:

The pom pom was adorable! I think that was my favorite DIY from this video.
@lizzyfrizzy20118 жыл бұрын
I work at a fabric store and what we do to make sure the fur doesn't go everywhere is we try to cut the material under the hairs so like the base fabric under the hairs. It only really helps when the fabric is facing up so we can see where the hairs are. Hope this helps xx

love all of them, super cute DIYs! another way to cut fur without chopping off all the edge hair is to cut tiny slits at the very base of the material! I'm so exited for the new studio, can't wait to see how you'll organize it!!

A tip I have working with fur is to just cut the fabric on the back that the fur is attached to. That way you don't loose the long bits of the fur and still get a great effect. It takes longer but I think it's worth it.

Hey! So I just found your channel yesterday and i kid you not when i say i spent like 5 hours straight binge-watching your videos... you guys are sooo creative and make beautiful, easy to make, DIYs! Anyyyyyways, I was just wondering what fabric store you guys go to? I live in Mississauga and go to Fabricland but it can get hella expensive there, ya feel? Do you guys know any cheaper place in the GTA? or some fabric shopping tips? cuz homegirl's a broke college student who wants to make cute DIYS ya feel? ok bye :-)

You guys should try a diy mascara rack or phone case rack. I tried making some with stuff from the dollar store but I failed lol i still use them tho. It would be awesome because I like displaying my mascara for easy use and easy storage. I've also made like cabinet separators for my sisters make up drawer but I wouldn't like that for me. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP. MASCARA RACK PLEASE

I suggest using an exact knife to cut the back of the fur so you cut the fabric and not the fur strands. Of course you need to be more careful doing it this way. I find it makes clean up easier. Also congrats in the studio. You two are awesome and inspirational.

Great ideas and lovely video but I have a tip for you, cutting the faux fur like that can be really messy and like you said cut off the long strands that you want to keep, the best option is to cut only through the backing of the faux fur instead of the fur and the backing together, once it's cut to the desired shape you just pull it apart and you have no mess and those long strands you want ;)

@tonnykwint8 жыл бұрын
a trick to not cut any hair off of your rug is to get a rodery tool and go over the shape that you drew on the wrong side of the fabric. this will work much better than scissors and because you don't cut off as many hair, your house won't get as messy ^-^
