So idk if you're SUPER open to suggestions, but I have some tips that will make things a bit more consistent for you: 1. Maybe don't use the focus Camera/Lock on, it's terrible in this game and will more often than not put you in bad positions since a lot of inputs are based on character direction (but obviously it's up to you, you just will almost never see people who play this game use it). 2. I highly suggest using the radial menus for items instead of the toolbelt, and mess around with your gameplay options to set them to inputs that make more sense for your brain. 3. Like some other folks said, the damage from that Longsword you were using is what it really SHOULD be at your level, the "Cheat Weapons" are way too OP for a first playthrough in a lot of peoples opinions and skews your perception of what the game may be like down the line. 4. When a Monster is flying, you can use an item called a Flash Pod to bring them to the ground and temporarily blind them. It helps a lot with fights like Rathalos and Legiana where they have a lot of air time, but they become much less effective once you get into the higher difficulty tiers. While you're in Low Rank they're easy advantages. 5. Don't be afraid to try out some of the other weapon types, they all play very differently so you'll never really know what clicks for you personally until you give them a go, but some are definitely more of a learning curve than others. Either way once you get into the depth of each one they're all a lot of fun to master. 6. And finally! You're doing solid so far, the core of the game is grinding monsters and making loot, so with you going through and crafting a longsword and the Legiana armors and stuff, you're really getting the gist of what you're going to be doing for the whole rest of the game. Hope you keep at it and get better as you go! Good luck with your channel.

@@LionheartRen yo thank you so much for all of this and taking your time to write all this out for me. I’ll definitely take what you said into consideration. I love suggestions and love any help o can get so I really appreciate it!

Flash pods do not become useless at high tier gameplay. They are always just as effective. They become less effective the more you use them against the same monster and against some enraged monsters. You can even flash pod safijiva and alatreon out of the air. You also need food buffs. Visit the canteen to get a meal and receive buffs before you depart on the missions. Do the optional missions to unlock better ingredients for better buffs. This will start you off with higher max health and stamina. Also you don’t have to focus on armor for looks. You can build armor that has better abilities that compliment your play style and make layered armor that you essentially use to make your armor look like a different set so you can look cool and be more effective too. Also I would suggest looking up moves on some weapons as a lot of them have somewhat hidden tech. Like the great sword has a shoulder tackle you can use while charging your attacks that basically has “hyper armor” where you will tank a hit without getting knocked back or knocked away when you time it correctly and allows you to stay in the fight in monsters face and get your attack off. But all the weapons are fun in their own ways.

Longsword is actually the most popular weapon in most MH games. People don’t like it in multiplayer though since it’s attacks will flinch other players. But it does deal a great amount of damage when used correctly. In recent years, the Longsword has become a “parry” type weapon, as Capcom keeps adding parries and dodge attacks to it’s moveset, especially in MH Wilds.
@LJBrazil10 күн бұрын
@@starzariaguy5151 maybe I have to learn how to parry then because it seems like it would be useful for the monster attacks that keep getting g me with a side roll. Thanks for the advice though for sure gonna use that from now on.

Fastest way to grind a specific monster materials is through investigations, you can get investigations by picking up tracks of monsters and fighting them a few times, you wanna check for investigations that have gold boxes for rare rewards or silver boxes for decently rare rewards,, also every weapon is good in it's own right they all have just have a big learning curve and every weapon can beat the game and defeat every monster solo
@LJBrazil28 күн бұрын
@@shadow_429 oh didn’t know that okay thank you. I also unlocked something where I’ll click craft or an item and it’s labeled with a gold icon now, before it was plain. Any idea what that means?
@shadow_42928 күн бұрын
@LJBrazil I think it just means you can craft it, that I'm not 100% sure of honestly,, oh and one more thing I'd like to mention, a weapon like duel blades have low damage numbers but hit very fast so damage output can be higher than let's say great sword where you mostly miss hits, don't worry to much about damage numbers, eventually you'll get skills that'll help with dps, choose something that feels right, every weapon also has some combos and bread and butter stuff that the game doesn't teach you,, also glad you got the hang of capturing monsters, you can get the flashy cage palico gadget in the forest you might have to check out how, once leveled you can give your palico comands to place traps so you just have to carry tranqs with you, also flashy cage is imo the best gadget for low and high rank but gets pretty much pointless in the dlc
@iwhoplays7904Ай бұрын
Funny enough, the armor you made has a skill on it as a set bonus that gives you extra rewards after hunts. Also don't forget to eat at the canteen before every hunt and expedition. Last thing, near the beginning when you were on the monster mashing Y, if you continue following the on screen prompts and brace with RT when it tells you to, you'll get the big hit animation which does more damage and will bring the monster down.

1.) the greatsword shines when you learn monsters moves and you can predict charge attacks 2.) trapping don’t get you more materials it just ends the fight faster and skips the most dangerous part of the fight 3.) the I frames are almost non existent unless you invest in evade window 4.) when a monster flies use flash pods to knock it pit of the sky or use the slinger and shoot it 5.) jerky is to stop bleed damage 6.)The lock on is trash I just turn it off If you have any questions just ask

Check with the bounty people and they’ll give you investigations, quests with different conditions with more rewards. When it comes to weapons, use whatever weapon you like. There’s a vocal minority that hates on some weapons. These people are just haters. Mounting is for getting a free knockdown on a monster and let your teammates do whatever in the meantime. It also does part damage to whatever part they bash into a wall. If you change the camera controls from focus to target, pressing the camera button with swing your camera to the monster, but not lock on. Also, pro tip, hold down the carve/gather button to gather faster :}

@gustogoneria7656Ай бұрын
@ mounting is still good for knocking the monster into the ground or “tripping”. To speed up the process, focus on knifing one spot and getting the monster to bash that same spot. You can also use slinger ammo while mounted. Ammos that flinch monsters are especially effective at speeding up the mount.

I come with some bad news... The item drop grind doesn't get better. It can take one hunt, it can take 20. The Monster Hunter World Wiki has drop rates for every item that can help with finding the best odds but it's pretty rough. Also, as for the comment about how the community reacts to weapons, you are super welcome to main whatever weapon. Think of it like this, if you play the game through with every weapon it's like having access to 14 different DLC for free. They're all completely different ways to play the game.
