During this time of quarantine we’re missing family so much! But it’s been a good time to slow down and reflect. I’ve been looking through old family pictures and thinking back on my childhood.
As I’m raising my own kids now, I look back on my growing up years and I’m so grateful to God for the parents he blessed me with. This is the fruit of those reflections.
This one focuses on my Dad. Part 2 will be “Mom” (though she’s such an amazing woman that I could easily turn that into a mini-series!). Love these people more than words can describe, and I’m so thankful to call them my parents!

I love that she doesn’t mind making a video and parenting at the same time. The fact that she’s so calm and doesn’t mind her kids interrupting her filming really says a lot. There are so many KZbin parents who do not film like this and it’s really sad. I think you are doing a great job Jessa. We have completely different political and spiritual beliefs but I love your channel and I think you are doing an incredible job with all of your kids.

My grandmother used to say, give folks their roses to enjoy now! You definitely gave him his roses to enjoy while here on earth! What a beautiful tribute of thankfulness and I have always loved the devotion that your parents selflessly gave! Some people wish for a moment of that love. You all have had your lifetimes! God keep blessing your Mother and Father. 🥰

Jessa, this was so encouraging to me. My dad passed away in December 2019, my mother died 30 days later and very unexpectedly my husband died in March 2020. Your reminders that God sees the big picture, and I don't, helped me today. My parents were also godly, generous people. God bless and keep you in his care. Love to you and your family from beautiful Western Canada.

This was so wonderful to hear. My dad was a follower of Jesus like yours is, but passed away from cancer when I was six. I only have a few memories of him, but some of my fondest are when he read Bible stories to us every night. I’m grateful for you, for acknowledging how blessed you have been for your parents.

@@Elsa4U If I was going to video myself, I'd want a script too. There is nothing criminal about wanting to share memories of your past on your own channel. I think it is to provide her audience with her perspective of how her parents, and especially her dad, raised her. As a Christian, she is also giving a testimony to the truths of what her father has taught her. All youtubers give their perspectives on the world as they see it. As always, if you disagree with or dislike what you see, you are free to change the channel.

D’s Place thats a funny thing to respond to my comment with. Maybe if you have a problem with Jessa loving her dad and wanting to show her appreciation on her KZbin channel, you could just not watch it? It didn’t sound to me like she was defending him for anything, I just thought it was a sweet way to show her love and appreciation. I get what you’re trying to say, but negative assumptions like this can be harmful when they’re aimed at someone you don’t know.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for allowing others to see all of the wonderful qualities that your parents have instilled in you. With all of the drama going on right now, it's great to see the good side of your family. It's great to see you not compromise, not bend or bow to the world. You are a very modest & humble young woman. God is using you in so many ways to reach others for His glory! Even when you see those that you love falter or give in to liberalism, you remain faithful. I highly respect you for that. Thank you for standing by your parents and all of your family, through it all. They need you to be there for them right now. I can only imagine how very proud they are of you and of the stand that you take in your faith. Thanks for being a Godly example. You are a wonderful wife, Mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend & child of God! 💞

I’m so glad you see the wonderful things your dad/parents did for you and your brothers and sisters. I wish I could say I have a close relationship with my parents but my dad has been in prison since I was 11, and I’m almost 22 and my mom is a drug addict and very absent in my life. Out of all the hardships that the Devil has thrown my way, I’ve always experienced Gods love and mercy. I’m thankful I married a man who loves the Lord and we’re raising our children for Him. Thank you for the encouraging words. 💜

It's 4.37am in The Netherlands and i was struggling to quiet my mind when your video popped up. What a beautiful thing. Hearing you speak about your father, calls a few things to mind. What a wonderful father he has clearly been to you, what a credit you are to him (and your mother) and, given how sweet your recalled memories are, how much love and gratitude your siblings must also feel when they also look to their relationships with him too. Your appreciation of him is touching. Gratitude is so important in life. My own father's hobby is also his family and i feel similarly as i look back on years past and to the present. He is everything a good father should be and as i said to him on his 70th birthday, 'There are so many people who would give anything to have a father, even a mediocre one. I know how lucky i am that i got you, Dad.'🌹 I was awake, in part, due to worrying about my parents at this time with world events. They are in Scotland, i miss them a lot and feel sad that i am not more use to them, being so far away. However this video, in a funny way pulled them closer to me, as so much of what you i could identify with and it gave a warm and fuzzy feeling. I feel better. Thanks☺

There is nothing more heart warming than to look back at our childhoods, as adults now, and have a true appreciation for what being a parent truly involves. What a phenomenal blessing it is to have parents who led their children to the Lord. I know especially during these uncertain times, my parents teachings of God's faithfulness, mercy and love, it has brought my family and I great comfort and hope. I know it's a scary world right now, but holding onto my faith helps calm my fears and thoughts. Your parents are such Godly people, what a treasure they are. I've watched your family's show from the very beginning of 14 kids and counting. I know your family has been a treasure to mine. Thank you all . My prayers are with you and all your family. Be safe and well Ms. Jessa. Sending love from your friend Pam in Chicago 💜💙♥️❤️

Thank you so much for sharing Jessa! I'm praying for your family that all relationships can be healed. I come from a family of five kids and we've struggled with a division for years and it's so difficult, especially when kids are involved. It breaks my heart.

Oh Jessa, I'm so glad you are thankful for your father. In a show a long time ago, I remember him saying that he had to help "guard the hearts" of his daughters. That has stuck with me all these years. I so wish my father had been interested in guiding and guarding mine.

Hello Jesse, I’ve followed your family forever and always loved you. I saw the many things you were allowed to learn to do and your travels and helping with siblings and just what a beautiful family you have. I remember when your family would come on the morning show to announce another baby was coming. This was a beautiful video ❤️ Thank you for sharing your family, I look forward to the videos🥰

This is the sweetest video. I love how you didnt wait for the perfect time to film this. If the kids screamed or interrupted, so be it. Such a treasure for your dad to cherish! I am grateful for the voice of your family...I have listened to your audiobooks several times. I hear your moms voice from those books during times that I need a reminder...my point is the outreach you and your family chooses to do does not go unnoticed.

I thought as I listened & watched, that i might not last through the entire 52 minutes but I found myself intrigued by every wonderful tribute to your dad! I could not stop listening! I want to honor you, Jessa, by thanking you for (1) sharing with all of us (2) being transparent, too (3) being real (4) honoring your dad (and your mom, too). You are such a blessing!!! Thank you for all of the above!!!
