From one pro to another pro... I watched this video to review my own personal thoughts... I was interested to see what level of an electrician you are!!!! ha ha ha ha haaaa!!! you do a super good job of explaining the basics of typical wiring installations... The fact that you don't want to install the breaker box above your sink in your food truck is the "mark" of a conscientious electrician.. I agree to always avoid wet areas especially in the placement of a breaker/service panel... you got a great attitude!!!! Good job man!!!

My food truck is all electric. My oven is 240. I know I have to use the double break, what wire should I use to get 50 amps? Will I get power to connect my fridge, prep table, lights and warmer?

6 gauge wire. If you connect it correctly yes, to make 120V

Does the 30 amp plug from the generator mean that we'd only want to pull 30 amps from the breaker box at a time, as in use only two 15 amp breakers in there? Im using two 30 amp generators, for now, to provide 60 amps for two coolers and a freezer, so wondering if I should put in two of these boxes.

@chimar0 that's what I would do, and yes 30 amps means the 30 Amps. Or you can do a 50 Amp one with bigger cable

Hey boss I love your videos in fact I've been wiring up a lot of food trucks and trailers lately My question is if you have power coming from another main panel essentially what's your installing on the food truck or trailer is a subpanel could you simply run too hot and a neutral and then use a ground bar for example in the NEC for a separate structure you must isolate the grounds and neutrals but have a separate ground bar for a garage what are the sub panels located

I have a question about that green ground wire on the outlet box… where would you connect that to? If the service line is connected to the breaker box and the ground is connected to the ground bar, I would imagine the ground wire is connected to the outlet, which then gets connected through the 30 amp wire wire going to the generator. Is that ground wire dangling fro the outlet box used for another application provided you are not hooking it up to a generator? Also, I picked up a Westinghouse generator that says “neutral bonded to ground”. What does that mean and is that ok for food truck operation? This is my final piece to my electrical research. Thanks!
@fbaltierrez3 жыл бұрын
You can connect a ground wire to the box that's what the general rule is when wiring the call it a pigtail. Or you can always send a dedicated ground to the outlet but thats usually used for like dryers or appliances and main house ground.

I’m sorry I was just unclear on that. Also, you’re videos are awesome! Thanks for posting!

The main neutral wire coming in from Main line goes to the screw that is with the neutral bar and all the individual neutral wires feeding outlets and switches go to the smaller screws underneath it
