I’m a Q50 owner and I’ll proudly say that G is slow. The red sport was in auto and the trans had to kick down and if the red sport gets a tune on E85 catless downpipes, he can walk the G in eco while in reverse.

As a VR owner, the problem is the driver here paired with the major turbo lag. He was probably in D, and by the time he floored it, car downshifted, and turbos kicked in you were 3-4 cars ahead. A fbo tune 3.7 will still beat the stock RS either way though.

I had a G37S sedan with 6MT before I got my Q50RS. I loved my G, but the upgrade in power is quite noticeable. I seriously think the Q50 driver was the problem more so than the car itself. Nice run none the less.

I’ve raced a q60 red sport and a Alfa giulia in my mk6 gti like 4 months ago on my way to work and I beat both by about 1.5 cars. I have a bunch of mods thou on the car. My car makes 315-320 hp 340lbft to the wheels. Has a stage 3 ko4 turbo (basically the turbo internals are beefed up), I run 22-24psi, has a big front mount intercooler, upgraded aluminum radiator, forged diverter valve, r8 coils, big injectors, arm downpipe, CAI, rev9 catback, hp fuel pump, tuned for 95oct, dsg trans with built internals, running some performance hankooks on the fronts, and a custom ecu tune from sms tuning in Georgia. The car weighs 3300 pound with me in it cause I did some weight removal. Eventually gonna beef the internals and shoot for 400whp. Them vrs thou are no joke I raced on maybe 2 weeks ago and it was tuned I believe and it was nose to nose for a while before he went to his exit.

@@ManTimeDre There's a difference between losing and getting smoked. As I said as soon as you hit the throttle the Q was already getting gapped. A couple hundred pound weight reduction doesn't work like that. That's assuming you removed the seats, changed wheels/brakes and have carbon fiber parts which I doubt you have all of that. You are really overestimating weight reduction here. Wrong gearing could definitely be the issue for a stock Q since the transmission can be laggy at times. These cars tend to shift a little better in sport or sport + mode. With a driver mod the Q would have done better. You also mention you did a couple races which means heat soaking for the Q would be a factor as well. The stock heat exchanger suck on the Q's which causes it to lose power after a pull. That goes back to my original point that you shouldn't be putting buses on a red sport.

TBH you don’t buy a RS because it’s all that much faster than a regular Silver Sport. One will dyno ~300-320whp and the other will dyno ~350whp. The main benefit to getting the RS is better brakes, secondary intercooler pump, speed sensors in your turbos to better dial in a high boost tune, paddle shifters, so on and so fourth. But power wise they’re both very similar; if you run them in cold air they’ll go low 13’s high 12’s stock, and with a flash either will pick up a lot of power even if you don’t do bolt ons. But stock a full bolt on 3.7 definitely makes more average power across the rev range than a stock VR30, especially if it’s heat soaked.
