Nice work! At 17:34 when you said, "this 22 stuff man it will drive you nuts," I though that no truer words have been spoken. 😂 Watching this makes me want to dust off my Weihrauch 660M (sort of a copy of an Anschütz) that I used about 27 years ago to get my Distinguished Expert classification. It still has the same iron sights on it, so now might be a good time to put some good glass on top of it. 😁

Would be fun to find some modern ammo it likes and then go to Vintage Shoots with the iron sights.

@@JackSmith-jj3bi, that's not a bad idea. Back then, I used to compete with Eley Tenex and it would print one-hole groups all day long.

Yes. .22 LR ammo will drive you nuts. Was at a 100m .22 Benchrest match this weekend, and had 2 other guys right beside me have the exact same thing happen: We all shot our sighters, 3 for me and 5 for each of them... all X's... then went immediately on target to score, and all 3 of us had our first round go high and right into a 7..... The cursing was blistering. I'm using my Anschutz 1827 F Fortner, left-hand Biathlon rifle with a 3-32x Apex Rival scope on it, and RWS R-50 from a lot I Know it loves, with a 25-shot fouled barrel from a fresh clean. All screws, rings, mount, base, action were retorqued the night before, to remove every variable but me. What the actual Eff.... Not a game for the faint of heart.

Great shooting John…. As my mentor says “you got to protect the 10”. You had shots trending low and a click up would have helped.
@FClassJohn8 ай бұрын
Thank you and I totally agree. The sucky part about rimfire is trusting that your group will hold up because of possible flyers. In this case you're 100% right since my group was holding up.
@wathaet13868 ай бұрын
Was hard to see how much the wind shifted front/rear. I think you would be surprised how much elevation changes with head or tailwind with 22lr. It would be fantastic to see someone of your caliber calling wind 12 and 6 o clock as skillfully as you do side to side. Feel like a putz saying that to you considering I am just a wonky mid level PRS shooter though. How big was you vertical spread on the 200 yard (inc end excl the low flyer?

Somewhat surprising your POI almost instantly changed from sighter target to target one. Any thouhts as to why?

Tough to say. Could be the idiot behind the trigger, or maybe just weird round that went off a bit.

@@FClassJohn absolutely NOT an idiot behind the gun. Your wind calls were amazing. I'm thinking it's a barrel temperature thing causing poi drop. Maybe?

I only have the one Majesta right now. I'm sure I'll get something different at some point for this but I also use my 22 for testing optics more than my centerfire so that's also why you see me switch around.

This is not a good video. It showcases an ammo that is not in stock anywhere. Perhaps it would be best to present a .22lr ammo that shoots similarly but can be reliably attainted.
