I have watched three of this series and am very impressed. Chris and Casey do get along very well as brotherrs. They get through bush "neurosis" quite well. A little space. Chris as the older brother shows himself the man, when he gives in every time Casey says, "I'm over it." But..don't spoil little brother.

Absolutely gorgeous New Zealand South Island! These boys are tough as nails in deep cold and in their neck of the woods.(see prior episode in Canada) We don't know if they even had a chance to recover from jet lag before being dropped. Neither had eaten all day before starting. So all those comments saying how soft they are is just hot air. These guys know their stuff. They just didn't know NZ.

Had to chuckle at the missing the pig because he forgot to load the gun. Actually happens fairly frequently to hunters. Especially when guys jump game while on the way to the hunting spot. Any time I get out the truck/walk out the camp the first thing I do is put a round in the chamber of my rifle/shotgun. Been my practice for 26 years now. Never heard a 'click'.

Talk in the raft on the move. I get they are probably encouraged to talk some for the sake of the show, but it's like they just have to move first, talk later.

When we air tubes up at the lake they almost always seem like they lose air when you put them in the water but it's just because of the temperature change. The air inside shrunk when it cooled down from the cold water. I'm hoping the freeze overnight is why the raft seemed to lose air in every chamber. When the air inside warms back up it should reinflate some

I've been white water rafting plenty of times. First off you don't sit with both legs out in the water. They might be dry. That current is moving probably 6 or 7 knots. They could have taken turns pumping up the raft while moving. Odds are by the terrain on the sides of the river they already passed they should figure they will have to cross the river.
@kcrh21 Жыл бұрын
Goat mean has distinct smell to it, and that's normal. There's a way to cook it to make it go away. If you're not used to the smell, you're not hungry enough.

Okay, I like the brothers, but I would be extremely surprised if they actually stayed out in the New Zealand wilderness for two weeks without food (except for the goat and spaghetti) and actually hiked all the way to that 38 mile extraction point. I have fasted food for up to 13 days. But I took it easy, and I kept my energy expenditure fairly low and spent most of my time reading my Bible and praying, as it was a religious fast. Having experienced what it is like to completely go without eating any food for many days, I never saw that weakness or tiredness in the brothers. I just did not see the reality (in the brothers demeanor) of someone who is fasting and having to expend large amounts of energy to stay warm and climb steep mountain cliffs through rough terrain. They never looked really spent, exhausted, hungry, and cold. That is why I believe this program was more of a TV production reality show, than really surviving in the wilderness.
@lisagemojiqueen5965 Жыл бұрын
Amen from the South Island of New Zealand where I live and was born absolutely you wouldn't survive 3 days in the New Zealand wilderness with out proper food.😅😅
@james-zh6yr Жыл бұрын
@@lisagemojiqueen5965 3 days without proper food is doable by the vast majority of humanity even in high caloric expenditure situations. 3 days without water in "unless enough is in the food/other drink" in most instances will result in death tho
@sassywolf1 Жыл бұрын
Agree. Three days doable. I go camping down haast way and I get flown in (James Scott best pilot ever) I wouldn't want to be in there without food for to long. It can snow at sea level. Great place to disconnect

I think that the goat meat needs to be boiled for several hours, in order to get rid off the strong smell and get the meat tender. But of course you need a big cooking pot, which these brothers don't have. But wow hey ! New Zealand is really breath takingly beautiful : ) Oh, why didn't they also introduce predators there, like Wolfs and Coyotes ?
