I love how "at turn 40 the boss just leaves" is an actual mechanic. This map is really really great, in all of the ways unique to Thracia. The enemies have tons of bullshit, but the player gets to wield just as much bullshit at the same time. Also "Dean gets oneshot because I forgot capturing lowers stats, leaving Lara stranded so she fights and kills her way through the entire army with little effort while Reinhardt sleeps beside her" is one of those great emergent story moments that this series brings out.

This reminds me of one of the greatest ironmen I have seen. Basically Mekkah was playing Fe7 hard mode hector route and while he played masterfully he completed fucked that one defense map very near the end of the game in which morphs attack Hector castle. He lost almost all his combat units and was left with only Jaffar. He managed to finish the other map slowly using Jaffar until endgame which was easy because Athos. Truly a rarely seen moment and this Lara survival mission reminds me of it. Sure she ain't going to look cool doing it and it is going to suck but she did it. Just like Jaffar slowly did it.

It doesn't kill him, releasing a captured unit removes them from the map with that flickering animation, implying that they simply flee the battlefield. But it makes it look like he was thrown in the water and drowned, so if you choose to believe that don't let me stop you lol

I've never played any Fire Emblem where you can just capture units on the map to steal their stuff, such a mechanic looks amazing! What I wouldn't have given for the ability to grab Marnie and just drown her in the ocean!

Heroes: Reinhardt is a cool guy, with baby hands! Thracia 776: Reinhardt is to Ishtar what Ishtar is to Julius: a skilled figure who nonetheless sets aside their principles for the sake of their significant other, albeit losing sympathy for themselves by abdicating most of their responsibility. As an adult, Reinhardt at least abdicates _less_ responsibility than Ishtar, but he ends up looking pathetic because Ishtar loves someone else instead of him. Engage: Reinhardt is name-dropped!

Reinhardt was a dumbass. Cyas made the correct choice but Reinhardt could have made it much more easily and also had more to gain but he did not do it. Both are basically representation of their holy warrior (Tordo and Falla) and they both are honorable, Reinhardt had least gave his best sword to his sister but he could easily have joined the rebellion army and made history. Funny thing is the only reason Cyas did not die here is because his grandfather Cohen was not a dumbass and teleported him away, he knew what was truly important. Then Cyas joined the good guys later on and he even became Fala direct descendant when Alvis died. Cyas saved Mareeta but I do not think there is any dialogue with the two of them when he joins. Would have been a nice pairing and even a funny one with Galzus in the picture.

Yeah I usually just OHKO crit the boss with capped Asbel Excalibur crit and dance Schroff or Safy so Leif can seize turn 1. It's either one of the easiest or one of the hardest in the game. I also just use my other A-rank staff user to warp Olwen and get her Blessed Sword. But this was hilarious to watch.@@migu6528

It's certainly the fire emblem experience of all time. It is somehow both brilliantly and terribly designed. If you decide to give it a chance, be wary of the extraordinary levels of bullshit you'll have to deal with it is a genuine slog sometimes

When you think about it, Reinhardt has to be the biggest cuckold in the franchise. A series where Sephiran had to divorce Altina and disown his kids to prevent a race war. A series where a dragon princess goes insane after a human king kicks her to the curb after losing her powers. A series in which Hardin gets NTRed by Nyna who gets NTRed by Camus. A series where Sigurd gets his wife snatched in front of him before he's executed. A series where Katarina has mooneyes for someone who is in love with a man who will erase him/her from history. A series where Brendan Reed literally throws away his honor, army, and sons for the sake of a woman who hates him. A series where Roger exists and falls for the same trick TWICE. Rather impressive when you think about it, huh?

He is downright pathetic when you look at him IMO. Camus did it right and so did Eltshan. Reinhardts has two character traits. He dotes on his sister and apparently he was Ishtar mentor slash bodyguard and he developped feelings for her when she grew up because according to Yulius he looks at her tenderly. I am not entirely sure if this is a way for Yulius to manipulate Ishtar because he knows she likes him and he is going to kill him if she tries anything OR Reinhardt actually likes her. Point is he is a dumbass who fought a war he knew was wrong, he even gave a speech to his sister and gave him his best sword... Meaning your cause is correct but I cannot follow you and I am a dumbass. I mean what the hell, let's imagine for one second Reinhardt did it (and trust me he had the stats to do it) he soloed the entire Leaf army and they all run away like bitches and game is over. What does he get? Well good job Reinhardt check out Ishtar she is kissing the satanic prince. Oh wait shit Leaf regrouped with Celice and now they are killing everybody wow I guess we looked cool one time before the good guys won.

Honestly terrain based kills and damage should be a mechanic again, picking up enemies and dropping them to their deaths would be a very useful strategy if wyverns were real. You could aslo make it where only certain types of units drown like armor knights for example

But that was never a mechanic... Reinhart isn't actually dead despite being dropped into a river. Besides capturing a unit is harder than just killing him. If you want actual "indirect" methods of killing. Then they can bring back Thracia styled poison or fire tiles that can kill.

No, he's just joking. You can release units onto any tile and it's the same (they despawn to imply they fled the battle)

They count as death the moment they are released. Technically they are alive when they remain caught (like lifis in 2X or your caught guys being dragged to prison in one of the last chapter in the game) But yeah even if you have both Coyhen and reinhardt caught they do not join after the chapter, this only happens to Lifis and Misha in the game.

Releasing isn't the same as killing, no. Not only does the game keep track of kills and captures separately, but units who reappear later in the story (Shiva, Amalda, Shannam, etc) won't come back if killed, but will if released. There are certain recruitable characters who will "disappear" if released (Lifis, Salem, etc), but that's because holding onto them *is* their recruitment condition. They don't actually die, just escape or something. The one notable exception is Galzus, who doesn't come back if released in ch5/6, for some reason.
