Apparenrly Daan is haunted by Pocketcat or some shit like that and if you waste so much time instead of moonscorching he straight up lets pocketcat take control of him so yeah Daan is Pocketcat.

It s not really haunted, it s more pre determined by the type of soul you have. Daan is the only known character that have a "void / blank soul" (depend how you interpret it) And the moonscorched of Rher reveal your true nature (=the nature of your soul) So this might be why Daan become Pocketcat After being moonscorched (But we don't why only Daan have this type of soul, or if this type of soul Can offer other unique possibilities)

@@chamallow3588 Soul type is determined by what time in the year you were born. It's the Funger world's equivalent of zodiac signs and we know this from Olivia's backstory. It was specified by the chart Miro posted to Twitter that the blank soul is for late October, so I don't think everyone with a blank soul is predetermined to become Pocketcat.

Man I love how this game does Doppelgangers. If you are on TV, showing your face and talking a lot, your Doppelganger can do that perfectly. If you are hiding away all the time and not talking with anyone, your Doppelganger is a none functioning mess

tl;dr, Pocketcat sees Daan as a suitable host for him to control and wants him to become a furry. Instead of Moonscorching, Daan becomes the new Pocketcat.

if you're talking about father hugo it's because when scorched earth is activated every fire attack deals like *4 damage and the huge chunk of damage of the baby in the orphanage is almost the same, a debuff that sets your hp to 1 on the next attack recieved and the mob... yeah they always oneshot you lmao
