I´ve never actually been unsure of my own salvation, but coming the knowledge of the salvation of all people through Jesus Christ has filled me with the most immense, most constant joy I´ve ever experienced in my life. I get particularly emotional when I listen to some good secular music, just thinking that this and that artist, that for now no Christian gives a second thought to, will glorify the Creator with their very own extreme happiness and in their own, very unique way because of the salvation of their soul from all their mistakes in life. We have not even begun to discover how amazing just _one_ of their testimonies will be.

Of course, if we know Jesus, we would never ask the question 'what is the point of being a Christian if not to be saved from hell?'. A truly shocking and stunning question and one that only exposes the mind and heart of a person. Sadly.

Luke 9 has the story of a city refusing to meet Jesus & disciples wanted to pray for fire & brimstone to vent their spleen on this old & terrible thought! And Jesus questioned their mental status, in Luke 9:55 some manuscripts add this: Οὐκ οἴδατε ποίου πνεύματός ἐστε ὑμεῖς· ENGLISH: YOU DON`T KNOW OF WHAT SPIRIT YOU ARE! Actually, it is a foul spirit, a mad spirit, a spirit of a tyrant, a spirit leading to sickness & being the opposite from the spirit of 1 Cor 13, the LOVE CHAPTER being Paul´s final heritage & normative teaching on THE ESSENCE OF GOD! Thank you, dear Marz, for your clear & tender words! Greetings & love from Germany!

When people take their children to church and here this damnable message over and over again as I did I grew up in it, and later preached it in myself, but when you take your children to church and expose them to this demonic God, and terrorize them that will stick with the rest of their life, tell me how that is not metal child abuse? As I said I was guilty of it myself.

Keep in mind we have two groups of Christians, those still with the veil on the heart and then the born again believers. It's the spiritual man and the natural man.. and sadly we have many pastors who still are the natural man.. the blind leading the blind.

It is sad millions only follow Jesus out of fear to escape hell. That is not a love relationship it's a fear relationship. You can follow and love Jesus and have heaven on earth or go out do the drugs live promiscuous and bring hell on earth into your life. Most people don't end up happy abusing others and themselves.

What gets me there are people like my uncle, he and others are just so chill about the idea of people burning in hell for all eternity. What would be a good argument for when my uncle says god doesn't send people to hell, people send them selves?
@dalecampbell5617

Slasha I would ask your uncle these 4questions; 1) do you believe that Satan has the power and ability to persuade men to follow his ways without interfering with man's free will? 2)do you believe that God has the power and ability to persuade men to follow his ways without interfering with man's free will?( Just like he did with Paul on the road to Damascus. ) 3) do you believe that most of mankind will remain lost in hell for eternity? 4) if you answered yes to the 3 questions, then does that mean you believe that Satan is more persuasive and powerful than God? The idea that God, being all powerful, all loving and all knowing, knowing the beginning to the end, is going to allow himself to lose most of mankind to a spirit being that he created, doesn't make any sense. Or that Satan somehow has the power and ability to put a time limit on God's work, doesn't make any sense. As if God can't reach/offer his salvation from eternal death to the lost beyond the grave because Satan won't allow it, or it's just too late, doesn't make any sense. Lamentations3:31 for no one is cast off by God forever. 1Corinthians 15:22 for as in Adam ALL die, so as in Christ ALL will be made alive. 1 Corinthians 3:15 if any man's work be burned up, he shall suffer loss yet be saved as through fire.

@@dalecampbell5617 Agree. Satan has no power at all, as Jesus has dealt with him at the cross. What's so amazing to me is that Jesus fírst restored mankind’s innocence in his presence and thén stripped all power of him! John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. -This was done at the cross. Col 2:9-15 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. Not Legalism but Christ [11]In Him you WERE also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, buried WITH Him in baptism, in which you also WERE raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He HAS made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. [15]Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. It's a done deal 👌👏 Thank you Jesus.

I didn't even believe in the doctrine of unending torture in hell when I cried out to Jesus to help me and he delivered me. It is a long story so I'll just say I was a real mess. I had recently came out of the cult of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, aka Jehovah's Witness' and was emotionally distraught and fearful. We were taught we could not pray to Jesus but only to the Father and I refused to pray to the "interpretation of God" they teach. One day the thought popped in my mind, "pray to Jesus". I thought it a strange thought but thought, "what do I have to loose".

Yes, we definitely pray to Jesus our Savior and King., but realize that He and our Father is One, just as we álso are included in this Oneness. Jesus also prayed to His Father. The Father never prayed to His Son, He only spoke to Him. And then we listen with our inner ear to the whispering of the Holy Spirit. This is our living relationship which also is eternal life right here and now. John 17:3 'And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent'. Jesus speaking.. John 14:20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. John 17:22,23 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. The New Covenant is only between the Father and the Son, we as believers are only heirs. Our inheritance is Sonship, restored and declared innocent in Christ. We live with boldness from this pure position we have in Christ. And this is the work which was given to the Son. IT IS FINISHED!

Sometimes satan can come as an angel of light. Did you test the spirit to make sure it was Jesus? There will be many false Jesus’. All you have to say is “Did Jesus Christ come in the flesh?”. If they don’t answer or say no, they’re of the devil. 1 John 4:1-3 NKJV 1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

This western objection comes from a fundamental misunderstanding of what "sin" is. Sin is not "incorrect behavior". Go back and read the Genesis story. Something happened before they "disobeyed". They sinned when they believed the lie of the serpent that God was not truly good. That is what lead them to disobey. Disobedience and misbehavior are symptoms.

But people will say God punished them for their disbelief, and that makes Him not truly good like the serpent told them, in the sense that Universalists believe.

Re Jordan Sin is to miss the mark, Christ. Adam ate of the Tree God warned him nót to eat (the law). The law points to Christ. Both Trees were created by God, but we do understand that this event was not physical, but spiritual. Whatever was done wrong in Adam, was restored in Jesus as the LAST Adam. Rom 5:12-21

@@dorinamary7863 Father has reconciled the WORLD with Himself and is since then in His eternal rest. His desire is that we enter His rest as well and this we can only do once we come to the knowledge of the truth of the cross. The Body of Christ needs to awake from the deep they are in. We so easily adopt beliefs from previous generations or others.

I'm really not a troll! I'm working through issues coming from a fear-based Christianity which extorted my "love" of Jesus by threatening me with Hell if I didn't--"Worship Jesus or be damned!" If universalism is true, then I have some questions: Does Jesus have anything to do with my salvation? Do I have to respond to Jesus or believe He's God in order to be saved? What if I don't bow down and say "Jesus is Lord" to the glory of God the Father? Will God save me anyway? I want to be able to love Jesus without being coerced into doing it. I want to be saved solely on God's love for me--is that possible?
@lyndonwilson3440

Hi Stuart, I get what your going through coming from fear based Christianity and I just want to say you are asking the right questions. Jesus created the world, all things made by him, through him and for him. What Jesus did was remove the power of death which is the wages of sin, the sin of Adam brought death to all humanity and Christ's death ultimately defeats it. In regard to your other questions perfect love casts out fear and we cant love God until we understand He loved us first. The whole drive of the New covenant is "God in us" so relationship can happen "not fear based religion" we cant trust God completely and freely until we know just how deeply loved we are" What's described in the video is the fruit of that love. God's not about coercing us against our will, but inviting us into a place where he wins our hearts and then we naturally respond in turn out of love. Love me or I'll consciously burn you in hell for ever would have to be the worst pick up line in history! Just ask God to show you his love first, that's the lens by which everything about him begins to take shape because love will take you further into relationship with him than fear ever will. All the best.

@@lyndonwilson3440 I appreciate your answer. Right now, I think of Jesus as a human being who had a close relationship with God, so close we can identify him with God. But I don't think of him as a supernatural deity. As I've said in other posts, I tend to agree with the Unitarians and Universalists of the 19th Century. It's interesting to explore the differences between Trinitarian Universalism and Unitarian Universalism! I wonder what you and others might think of this creed from the Universalist Church: Found in the Gloria Patri Revised prayerbook, 1903 and Book of Prayer, 1941. A CREED embodying the Conditions of Fellowship affirmed at the session of the General Convention held in Chicago and in Boston. "I believe in God, the Father Almighty and Universal; and in Jesus Christ his Son, the true teacher, example, and Savior of the world. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the quickener and comforter of men. I believe in the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as a revelation of righteousness, truth and love. I believe in the Holy Church Universal; in the communion of saints; in the certainty of punishment for transgression; in the forgiveness of sins; in the life immortal; in the final triumph of goodness and mercy; and in the union and harmony, at last, of all souls with God."

@@stuartkenny3050 Thanks for that. Obviously I would differ regarding who Jesus is and the punishment angle. However in truth none the creeds from my evangelical/pentecostal/charismatic backgrounds gave me any assurance other than an abstract/theological idea of God's love, but the fear was definitely real! I agree that the Holy Spirit is the quickener and comforter of men. Regardless of how me may see things differently and seriously I'm not presuming any doctrinal high ground here, but I think the relational reality of God's loves begins with the Holy Spirit within all of us. He is our teacher, guide and comforter according to Jesus in the upper room discourse in John's gospel. The truth about Jesus and his love for us I think starts there. Trust that he can shows us the truth and not just the preconceptions we may have been conditioned with. I have been out of Institutional church for 25 years, the me of back then would have called the me of today a heretic! it took so much detoxing to even begin to be ready to understand God's love. I don't call myself a "Universalist" because of the stereotypical triggers, but a relational journey began when I really first discovered God loved me. It was then a logical progression towards really understanding the cosmological implications of the cross that showed me that anything short of an ultimate victory just didn't add up. Wishing you all the best
