Hi Natalie, I think your videos and work and how you dedicate yourself to help others is really awesome. Would you be able to make a video or topic about an interview question or situation on a question about “Tell me about a time you had to learn something quickly, and you didn’t know how to do it, or handle it?” How would you go about this, how would you handle it, or how would you answer it? If you could make a video on this it would be awesome and gladly appreciated! :)

Thank you so much for this video. From few months I have been dealing with this and due to this fear/social Anxiety I am not even applying for a job even though I have the skills required. I am just postponing the whole process of job search just because I think I am not ready yet. I was stuck in this loop but after listening to this video, it gave me some perspective on my problem. Thank you!

Hi Natalie. Thank you so much for this video. I just canceled an interview out of fear. I'm an immigrant from Brazil in Canada, so sometimes is really challenging to overcome the language barrier. I've learned that I just need to put myself out there. Thanks again for this.

The first point you made hits home. I keep talking myself out of offers cause I think I'm not enough. I get scared and in turn, screw up interviews or not even go or even sell myself short to the point of accepting lower offers. Thanks for the wake-up call. I love the "It doesn't mean you can't it just means you've underestimated the process to get there...don't give up- the pay off is worth it." Thanks again!

You are amazing!! I'm literally in the same situation and have my interview next week but I instantly feel great now. I'm gonna go and have a great mindset. Most importantly I will not beat myself for not knowing the answers and just learn them later even if I get the job. Thank you so much!!! It's really extremely helpful.

I am cancelling interviews last minute because of huge fear, then I feel awful about myself and also relieved, but still I dwell on my situation. I am called to some good clinics, I want to go, I usually feel well the day before but the next day is a disaster- i ruminate everything, I am afraid of the employer, I feel myself becoming less and less secure, I start feeling very low , I even feel totally awkward about the whole world, I starting imagining scenarios and my anxiety is high. I go there and before entering I stop and start questioning if I really have the guts to go. And I don’t

Thank you so much for this video. I am a senior student trying to find an internship. Over the four years I spent in college, I have been learning how I was not as good as some excellent people and I blamed myself for this. I haven't applied for an internship these days because I don't think my dream offer is ever gonna come to me. And I am afraid of my bad performance in interviews in front of another person, even it's a stranger. My perfectionism didn't get me any further. But you are right we need to have self-compassion. I am prepared for those failures.

Hi Natalie, thank you so much for your video. I've been in this situation, losing motivation after many rejections. For some of them I knew that I didn't answer questions properly while for some of them I had no idea why, however, I assume that the main reason is my communication. I've been trying to overcome this negative feeling and focus on areas to improve, however, I can't deny that this "failure feeling" is totally deep inside me which I need to manage it in order to succeed. Your opinions are very truthful and your suggestions are genuinely practical. I will keep on going with the process, and we'll see the result in the next few months. :)

thank you so much for this video Natalie.. its been 3 years post but the wisdom, knowledge and approach are very practical and wise to follow. Mu take away? so much and its hard to make it singular and say biggest... so... Don fail ahead of time... Need to talk to people, need to show up. We either Win or Learn because failure doesn't exist.. Believe that our goal already happen believe it 100%. ..

Good advice. However from my understanding people are often not just looking for a job, they're looking for a location. Either a favorite or a closest company, sometimes both. There's only so many you like and there's only so many that are close-ish. This only increases the anxiety.

Hi Natalie, I am watching this as a business student in my final year. I was trying continuously to pursue an internship but when I had the chance of an interview, I failed. I failed twice with the same company on the interviews that I really wanted to work for. I would prepare as well.!Since then, I gave up. I have this interview fear. In the past, I have ghosted interviews. I am not sure why people like us dismiss certain opportunities but thank you for discussing this topic

There are valid reasons for stopping. I know someone who has applied for the same apprenticeship for years and it's clear that they don't want him. He's just throwing himself against a wall repeatedly and they get to keep taking advantage of him as cheap labor in the meantime because your wages are less than half that if you don't get into that apprenticeship. I think cost-benefit analysis is very difficult for most people. You mention 17 interviews in your video and knowing that ahead of time would help, but even if you told most of us I think we'd be unable to grasp the effort, time, and other investment we'd have to make to get through that vs the reward of ultimately getting the job.

The only comment I have is around the point regarding not knowing an answer in an interview and then going away and learning how to answer this next time around. If you go on a 100 interviews and each time you take away something to learn, you'll be stuck in a vicious cycle of over preparing and trying to know the answer to everything. It's not a good idea to do this. Barring this point, I thought the video was really informative. Downside is that most people know all of this already because it's common sense. However, the problem lies in the application of the techniques explained in the video. If you were advising someone on techniques, you would advise on the video points. Advising yourself, doesn't work that way. Chris.

Public Service Announcement: consider that you might have an anxiety disorder and may find job search (and many other aspects of life) easier by taking an anti-anxiety medication like buspirone (non-addictive, no weight gain issues, may even enhance cognition and when paired with a melatonin may help depression symptoms too). Even a low dose like 5mg. Might help immensely. As well as moderate to heavy exercise nearly EVERY day and cutting back on sugar and all that good stuff. I may be speaking from experience. Good luck!
