Same. I didn't believe it was going to happen right up to the moment her head went in. It might just be the best horror kill in years. Aside from being so gloriously gory, I think it was so shocking and effective because it hit after a lengthy period since the last kill and after the film had told us everyone but Sam was safe, and the movie had really settled into a kiddie horror movie vibe.

Yeah and I think teenagers in particular will be a little more joke-y about stuff like this both to put up a brave front (I'm not scared guys!! im joking about it bc I'm sooooo not scared!) and because *some* aren't quite at an appropriate level of empathy yet :/ not to hate on teenager or anything, I just remember so many people in my high school making jokes about serious world events/tragedies in ways that ranged from tasteful dark humor to edgey mcedgelord shit. but maybe that was just my experience with 2000s/2010s era teenager life. hopefully less assholes making tasteless 'jokes' these days lol (but I doubt it)
@peeperooni-and-cheeza3 жыл бұрын
Also to add to this I feel like sometimes teenagers have a sense of being immune to danger. Unless they are direct friends or related to the people involved in tragedy, they'll feel like it couldn't possibly happen to them. I read this comment in James‘ voice
@tympestbooks17273 жыл бұрын
@@bloodblazin9 I can think of a couple reasons she'd be scary without having a ton of screen time. The big one is that she's the only killer with a specific verbal thing, the others might grunt or roar as they're attacking but Ruby Lane sings constantly. You hear her coming before you see her, which is a nifty tension builder and makes her feel a bit more unique compared to Skull Mask and the Camp Nightwing killer who have obvious bases in other movie slashers. The other thing I can really think of is that there just aren't a ton of slashers that are female. Women are almost always on the slashee end of the knife rather than being the killers, even to the point that Pamela Vorhees gets forgotten as the killer in Friday the 13th part one. So having a fairly small, fairly normal looking woman as one of the killers could make her stand out a bit thus upping the perception of her as scarier. There's also that what's scary can be super subjective, but that's the boring answer and I like it less for that

I actually think the teens reaction in the beginning to the murder is pretty on point coming from people who experience things like that pretty often. As you grow you become desensitized to the tragedy and eventually make jokes about it. As a kid who grew up in a pretty shitty area you just kinda shrug your shoulders and move on when it comes to tragedy.

at 16:00 when James was confused why skull mask killed the receptionist and b-eddy was probably because they inadvertently tried to keep him away from Sam while josh stood to the side of nightwing saying nothing so in other words you interfere with the killers task/goal you get killed but if you let them pass you stay alive Edit: this is not a great way but the most sensible way of explaining those plot holes and yes in this theory there is plot holes like alice in part 2 but if you watch the film with this in mind at least it doesnt seem like skull mask is doin whatever he feels like

It was only for a minute and his son was totally fine (I think he even said his son was like “dad I’m okay what are you freaking out about”), but he said it truly scared him. I think that'd be kind of dumb in my opinion- they're not movies anyways, so I don't think he ever would

James is really dedicated to make us happy with his kill counts. He deserves a break.

he's not that dedicated. if he was more dedicated he would have already done a thankskilling 3 kill count

Spoilers for part 1 and 3 I like how they made sheriff Goode say, “You look like a ghost, like you just came back from the dead” because he probably knows that she did. Considering the fact that *he’s* the one who sent the killers to Sam, he might know that the only way for the killers to stop chasing the targeted person is to die, and it’d stay that way even after they revive Cool little detail :)

I just reread my comment and realized I made a mistake - he’s not the one who sent the killers after her bc the reason they went after her was bc she bled on Sarah’s bones But still, he could’ve still known about this fact bc his family was “controlling the curse” for years
@AE_Sunset-Nutrix_AE2 жыл бұрын
@@best.girl.nagitoe_ That's right, the Goodes allow the devil to take over a living person so they can kill others and the devil can feast on their blood. But the dead killers coming back when someone is bleeding on the bones, happens on its own.

I read nearly every single Fear Street book when I was growing up. R.L Stine was one of my favorite authors as a kid in the 90's. I started out with Goosebumps, and went on to Fear Street. Seeing James do a Kill Count for this series is such a wonderfully surreal thing. Seeing them being made into Netflix films is also very surreal.

The killer that made me truly frightening was Isaac. The dude that’s like 8 foot always wears that welder mask and is in the last part of fear street three. Hope we see more of him on the series.
