Rich is a great guest, interesting and very knowledgeable. I didn’t realize he was a sports journalist and worked for those venerable NYC newspapers. I bet he is full of entertaining stories! Thanks for introducing us to him, AK!

I've lived in NC for the past 30 years, raised in Maryland, spent time in the Navy, and traveled the world and the seven seas. 24:57 Rich definitely has a good idea about grabbing a bite from one of those restaurants, so many there. I remember one time going to an event, Taste of NYC or something in like the theaters area near times Square and like you buy a ticket and then its good for every food stand at thr event. We got there late but in time for when they were giving cheesecake away and even gave a slice to a man on the street because we had so much. So yeah it was the Taste Of NYC event I think, all kinds of restaurants

Walking through San Gennaro Feast is the closest thing to experiencing what salmon must feel when they go to spawn. Great video AK, the B size of the feast. And Rich has a lot of histories to share.

I used to walk past this Church on Baxter St. as a child every day commuting to school at Transfiguration. I never did go inside to take a look. So, it's a wonderful thing to see it again in your video! Thanks Rich and ActionKid!

I could eat my way from one end of it to the other! we had a friend that used to do tours to the city from Hancock MA. and we had her stop at Jr's for cheesecake and bring us one back when she was near there on a tour. once again AK you took this old man on a great outing. thank you so much. I really enjoyed going to the Feast of San Gennaro this year. I never would have known about it if you hadn't done these videos, so thank you for posting them. I saw 3 of the eating contests (cannoli, pizza, and meatballs) so that was interesting and of course the food was great!

@@barbarapettry6817 You might be able to find videos of it here on KZbin. My favorite part was when it was over they handed out all the leftover cannoli's to the audience. I got one and it was delicious! I was hoping to get a slice of pizza or a meatball after the other eating contests, but they didn't give anything away so I had to go buy my own.
