Feat #77: Shadow Touched (DnD 5E)

Your exposure to the Shadowfell’s magic has changed you, granting you the following benefits:
Increase your Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
You learn the invisibility spell and one 1st-level spell of your choice. The 1st-level spell must be from the illusion or necromancy school of magic. You can cast each of these spells without expending a spell slot. Once you cast either of these spells in this way, you can’t cast that spell in this way again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast these spells using spell slots you have of the appropriate level. The spells’ spellcasting ability is the ability increased by this feat.

I don't think Silent Image or Disguise Self would be as popular an illusion option when Eldritch Adept is an option that gives endless free castings.

I really like this for druids or clerics since they dont have invisibility on their respective lists. So having it and another situational spell allways prepared is nice, also the free casts and +1 wis is good. I think taking both this and fey touched is nice for most full casters.

I think Chain-Lock Warlocks are the best option for this feat. Invisbility as a free known-- and free extra use per day. And then Inflict wounds- one first level spell used. And then it can be upscaled using their slots. Which can be a lot of d10s. Which.. they can get advantage on using, with their own spell bonus, using their Chain Familiar; who is invisbile, so you can do it from far away. Or even unseen. Jusut suddenly a pseudo dragon tail whips your enemy with massive necrotic force then darts away (as it goes right after you)

I think you're missing a detail, or maybe I missed it in the video chat due to multitasking.."You can also cast these spells using spell slots you have of the appropriate level. The spells’ spellcasting ability is the ability increased by this feat." So, you can upcast thi with your own slots. Looking at other feats; this one states "approriate level" it does not restrict it to the "original level" So, if you get this, you can upcast your own slot (higher or same level). So say a warlock? THey can rock Inflect wounds at level 5. ir invisbility at level 5 using their own slots. So, this in efect gives you 1/day spell and extra spell knnown

I love this for my Alchemist.. Invisiblity means I don't have to prepare it! and.. the other option? INFLICT WOUNDS! Massive damage at low level. and can scale up in an emergency. I rp it as a cursed carfed, alchemically preserved, and rune etched bone spike that I have hidden on my person. Pulling it ou and stabbing. If you happen to have the space for Artificer Initiate, you get to add your Int stat to the damage on it; which is a pseudo +1 upcast avg ish damage. Which is nice. However, they're sadly not valid for the Spell SToring item at all.

The only problem with this is the fact that there aren't a lot of first level necromancy spells that are useful. An infiltrator style character can make use of it.

Inflict Wounds 3D10 Necro damage it's pretty OP for me, and you can upcast this if you have spell slots, using it on Rogue

Really depends on what class is snaggin it. EAch side is far better for certain ones. but. Absolutely Fey Touched's lists is SO much bigger. Like 3 x bigger? 2x at least. I forget last time I looked at choices on dndbeyond

I can make this feat terrifying. Play a sorcerer have subtle spell take inflict wounds and wait for someone you don’t like to shake your hand.

If it wasn't ofr the +1Wis,Int or cha it would be terrible.Invisibility is good The 1st level selection at present is just meh!For a martial maybe? I give it a 4/10 as a general feat. Non arcane trickster rogues 7.5/10 as they will want this. Is it worth it for one definite sneak attack? I'd be willing to say yes!

there really isn't any good 1st level necromancy or illusion magic, these spell schools really don't come online till level 2 and up. so this feat is really meh. take it for flavor or something really particular you want for your dnd dude
