I bought mine new in 1960 when I was 15 and I still have it. Beautiful black walnut stock. With the right ammo it will shoot groups you can cover with a dime.

I believe only about 20,000 or so of the production was tubular magazine. The one I had for all those years was tube fed. The rifle will be my youngest grandson's when he gets old enough to use it. Merry Christmas and thanks for all the videos this year.

I was able to add one of these to my collection a couple years ago, tube fed version in incredibly good condition. I don't think mine had ever been disassembled for cleaning, it had more carbon fouling in an action than I have ever seen. After spending many hours and wishing I had a 3rd or 4th hand to aid in reassembly, I understood why. The tube fed version is a nightmare to get everything aligned at the same time to get it all back together, but will give a great sense of accomplishment once completed. It sits in my safe and I look at it once in a while but I am reluctant to shoot it much due to the level of difficulty in reassembly. Great guns, decent accuracy, and a really cool design.

That is a beautiful specimen of the 77. I luckily own one each of the two variants. These old Winchesters are well made , classic examples of what used to be. Thanks for your continued efforts of bringing your views the old classics. Have a great Christmas with your family. I hope Santa was good to you!!!!

My late Father had one in the "clip" model he purchased used around when I was born in 1964 & it was stolen in around 1972 & I am sure I still have a magazine from it,.....memories of the best years, or I should say, the best years of America till the SHTF for good in 2000, even though we al realize that was in the making forever.......Thanks alot fer sharing !!! - Really enjoyed it. & Merry Christmas to All.

I have one of these rifles. My brother bought this rifle for me in 1955 while he was in the Navy stationed in California. He rode on a Trailways bus back to West Virginia where I lived. This is the most accurate gun I have ever seen. I have only seen one of these other than the wine I own and it was at at an estate sale and it also had a tubelar magazine.

Very nice addition! Like you, I added to my collection last weekend as well, just not a vintage one like yours, I bought a new Henry H001 at my local Walmart, was kind of shocked they actually had a Henry, and knowing it would shoot 22S, L and LR all 3, I didn't hesitate to jump on it and buy it! Brought it home, slapped a 3-9X32 Simmons scope I had on it and got it sighted in, and got another Squirrel killer in collection now!

Merry Christmas to you and your family! I gotta ask, what kinda scope was on that remington 552? Looks like a simmons Deerfield scope. Either way both are beautiful rifles! You've made me pull out my 22s and clean em and get em ready to shoot this week!

Good advice. However I have owned "shot out" rifles with bad bores that with a little time finding the right load turned out to be extremely accurate.
@jasonsimone352320 күн бұрын
I got one of those. Funny thing is mine has a really nice piece of walnut on it too. Weird for a 22. Mine holds 8 also. Mine don't lock open either.
@johnbozak166220 күн бұрын
Winchester copied their model 100 on that one. See a few at our local gun shows kicking around yet. Never owned one but did own a Winchester model 290 tho. Very good gun too. Looked a little like a Remington. Still like my Ruger 10/22. Greetings from Canada! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year too.

I really enjoy your videos on vintage .22 lr rifles. I do have a question. Do you have any idea where I might find a bolt for a Stevens Arms Mod 121 Westpoint Westfield rifle. Mine has a broken ejector and will not lock in the fire position? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you and have a Merry Christmas..

Already commented but forgot to ask a question! What scope rings do you prefer on the older 22 rifles? Looking for some decent dovetail rings for a few of my older rimfires.
@CumberlandOutdoorsman18 күн бұрын
Good question. On a personal level I prefer Burris rings overall. They just have that classic look that I admire, and they are well made.

I have one just like and it shoots very well but has a issue with feeding the first (2) rounds but is fine after that. Do you have any recommendations? I enjoy the rifle and would like to get it feeding consistently. Thanks for sharing this wonderful little rifle history. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
