Ole Alexander. So much class. Run and score a TD and acts so ho-hum. Just did my job.

They got their moneys worth out of the punters in this game lol. Shaun Alexander was a beast.

I remember in Alexander's autobiography. He was 3rd string running back and Riddle gets put out and 2nd string was sick, so they put Alexander in (who had no sleep from the night before) and he ran all over lsu.

I watched this game with my son, and could not believe the night young Alexander had!

The thing is Alexander didn’t even play much until the second half…had he been in the whole game he would have probably had 500 yards…

Two college Greats...In Kevin Faulk and "Alexander the Great"!!! I watched Riddle and C. Alexander go down...and then The Freshman came in to smash some records!.. Greatness in the making that day! Love ya Shaun!

LSU was 10-2 that year. But their two loses to Florida and this game were shit shows . They literally overshadowed the ten wins!
@Rhinosaurus10008 ай бұрын
Agreed. Spurrier ran up the score on the best of them in those days and….well….its Bryant-Denny West when Bama visits. 🤷🏽♂️As I’m sure you know, Bama owned LSU in their house long before Saban. How do you go 31 years without beating a team in your own stadium? In my former passionate sports fan days, I’m not sure I could bear that. 🤔 Couldn’t have imagined how they felt losing the natty in Louisiana to Bama….in another shut out at that.

18:52: I hated that, at this point, they did not bring Alexander back into the game. Five TDs would have been an Alabama record as well.

That's tough to watch. Stallings was not a good coach. Chad Goss as a punt returner?
@chrisj71874 жыл бұрын
He went 70-16-1 in 7 seasons. That’s pretty good to average 10 wins a season back when they played 11 regular season games. Goss didn’t get much of anything on returns but he had great hands. He was there for sure hands.
@PerryCuda4 жыл бұрын
@@chrisj7187 Disagree, the schedules back then were bad. Maybe 2 ranked teams a year. This team lost to a 5-6 MSU the next week. Players were out of shape, opposing rbs went 8-10 untouched, redzone penalties, 3rd and 15 and the QB is behind center, etc... Other than greats Samuels and Alexander, just not visually good football compared to where it is today.

@@cecilgrover8311 In the regular season? He played 2 ever year except for 91 (3) and 95 (1). For perspective, Saban played 7 in 2016 and then 3 more in the post season.
