I know it's a little late in the year to be posting this video but my spring has been a little crazy, so here it is anyway 🤪 My thoughts any what I learned, maybe it can help or give others some ideas out there to help themselves in the future 👍 How many people make it to the end?
Deaths: 210 reported by HoustonPublicMedia.org, on July 14, 2021
Damage: The damages from the blackouts are estimated to be at least $195 billion (2021 USD), making the system the costliest natural disaster in the recorded history of Texas and the United States as a whole.

Yep that was one heck of a storm 😳 You guys had it worse up there than I did, it only got down to 6° for 1 night here, the rest of the time it was in the teens 😳 They say the Atlantic current is weakening, I just hope that storm isn't a glimpse into our future 🤔 Take Care Mac 😎

That's so very true Terry 👍 I bet you could give me a lot of pointers on what to do when it starts to get cold out 👍😉 I read something the other day and I hope the Brainiac's that study the Atlantic Ocean current are wrong, they think the circulation is slowing down and also think it may stop 😳😳 Yikes If that happens, my storm is only a prelude to what's to come, it will be a remake of the movie "The Day After Tomorrow" 🤪 LOL Take Care my friend 😎

I think I remember you saying that you were stuck out there before in one of your videos comments and I think I also asked you back then "what the heck you were doing way the heck out there in Van Horn" back then too James....LOL 🤪 But I don't recall your answer 🤔 But at least you made it to Houston alive, and that's what counts guy 👍😎 You want to hear something scary 😳 I read something the other day and I hope the Brainiac's that study the Atlantic Ocean current are wrong, they think the circulation is slowing down and weakening, I just hope that that storm isn't a glimpse into our future 🤔 Take Care James 😎

thank goodness for 2 things - we don't get snow, and I don't have to pay for water or power here! Lol. Uh, wait... Did you say 1921? Damn! Hahahaha!

I was lucky. This time I'll be cutting the water at night.

I'm glad you were lucky LG 😉 Ahhh..cutting the water off is a good idea for sure, but there is a lot of other things that you will have to do also 😉 Not trying to be a "Smart Alec" or a know-it-all here, just asking...do you know the other things you need to do 🤔 Because not doing those things can lead to as much, if not more damage than the frozen pipes will cause 😳 As I was editing this video I was thinking about making another one about this subject, because during the storm I got a lot of calls about "how to shut off the water and what to do to keep the pipes from bursting" 😉 Take Care LG 😎

@@SurviveN2 My wife and I were talking about a generator to run the blower fan, but then we would have to deal with venting the fumes of the attic or running cord to the attic, plus the actual retrofitting. We had rolling power blackout for 3 days 45 minutes on 45 off, so our freezer and house never got terribly cold. I was thinking more of getting a a couple of propane heaters to keep one room warm. Everybody will have to do what is best for their situation.

LG....Right now I've got things I need to do today and can't go into depth on the subject....but I was an Electrician for over 15+ years 😉 so I can help with figuring out a good solution for a generator if that's the way you would like to go or at least give you some options and you can make the decisions that best for you 👍 L8tr
