I don't really agree with putting Cherries in unpopular and Belle in meh, would definitely swap those two. I'd also argue to put Ash to staple. Sure, Droll is definitely the right call vs Spyral. However, Ash is the most versatile hand trap and can be used against a much, much wider variety of decks. Apart from that, pretty solid tier list.

I think ogre deserves popular simply for the versatility. For top matchups this card can hits spyral decently, basically negates and destroys apollousa, negate and destroys IP, hits guru control hard, has something to do vs altergeist (very few hand traps do this), stops new salad debug comboes, and stops most of the otk fusions from the rogue category.

So if the opponent activates appolousa on an origninal monster effect, and you ogre apollousa, then apollousa will be destroyed. Then it will not successfully lower its attack, so the original monster effect will not be negated. IP says "Immediately after this effect resolves, Link Summon 1 Link Monster using materials you control, including this card." So if the opponent activates IP, and you ogre it: IP will be destroyed, and then after resolving IP the card will not be available for material for the link summon (so they cant summon a monster).

I think Ghost Reaper is particularly good for decks that summon Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess. Banishing Apollo is a very big deal versus certain combo decks (Extravagance Spyrals for example), and it warrants the use of other HT like Nibiru. I do agree that it belongs on the unpopular category but i figured i would mention a key utility it has this format.

Lancea COULD be a potentially useful against Spiral, as they like to banish their Traps/Spells to build their insane boards, and it would prevent them from getting Sleeper on the field since they wouldn't be able to s.s. it based on its summoning cost. Whether or not it would be effective at stopping their wombo combos is something I'm not too sure about, but if it can at least keep their quick effect destroy boi off the field I'm satisfied enough with what it COULD do. EDIT: It also counters D.D. Crow, so if that card become rampant Lancea could have even more value. That, there are a bunch of cards the banish as cost for their effects, so if you could side it against opponents to pre-preemptively cripple their plays.

I dont agree about Belle. It can be used against Spyral, and depending of how much u are expecting of Dinos, Belle is really powerful, even more than Ash, since it can stop Called and the Baby Dinos.

The problem with Ash and Belle isn't that their effects are bad, it's that one negate isn't enough to stop Spyral. Oh no, you stopped one search/summon, guess I only end on 6 disruptions instead of 7. Oh nooooo. That's why cards like Lancea and Droll are so much stronger: they're not just a disruption, they're a floodgate.

Belle is nice, but crow is a better option. Running both isn't bad, it stops all but the most busted spyral hands, but even then, it's often not enough. It's a card that only high hand trap count decks can use well, I don't see any deck that's only running 6 using belle this format.

It's really meh tbh. It works best on your opponent's turn, and besides the burn damage you MAY inflict with it won't matter unless time has already been called, because it almost certainly won't be lethal damage.

I think belle is good against SPYRAL. Stops big red (unfortunately negates activation though), helix and most importantly, the trap, which gets banished as cost. By experimenting with the deck, sometimes negating that may end their turn (even if they do not brick).

alex neo gladiator beasts they are a contact fusion archetype and have a tag in mechanic that when one battles it shuffles itself and summons another from deck they all have effects for when they are special summoned via a GB effect and the fusions shuffle the materials into the deck A popular strategy was running d. Fissure along with macro cosmos because your monsters almost never ended up in the GY so it was a good option for graveyard control Though this strategy has been abandoned after links came out but with the new master rules I’m sure there will be some more room for those strategies since synchro will be a popular deck that can and in most cases does have a lot of cards with GY effects

Can't disagree more about Lancea: there are a LOT of cards in the Spyral combo that require banishing to continue the combo. Sure, it isn't quite the "turn skip" it was against orcust, but it is still VERY powerful.

I feel like you overestimated spyral when making this list. I know spyral is expected to be the best deck but it's not tier zero by any means there are alot of other decks in the field that will be popular this month and I think that some of the hand traps that are generically good against most everything are going to be favored to cards that are only good against spyral because it's not the only matchup you need to prepare for

I said in this video I don't think Spyral will be Tier 0. However, a "staple" in my mind is a card that's played in every deck. Cards like Ash are really popular (which is why they're in the popular category), but they're not being played in Spyral, Lunalights, and plenty of other combo decks. Droll will likely be the only hand trap in the next few weeks to truly be a staple, in the same way that Lancea was a staple for several formats.

How veiler isnt that good against most of matchups....and imperma is so good against everymatchump with a small exception of that impact vs spyral....they are doing the same effect,okay imperma is the better version but in terms of impact when they land...its pretty much the same...so i dont understand :/

Droll is a wipe out against spyrals which is the best deck of the format so it's definitely up there, other decks seem to get hit by it slot though: dangers, hero's and tonnes of other decks search tonnes too so I think droll is definitely good
