Federal Signal BeaconRay 176A Matching Set

Another interesting light from my buddy down in TN.
Federal Signal BeaconRay Model 176A, this is a matching set with both beacons with the same S/N.
The 176 was the 4 lamp rotating beacon, and the A designated Pole mount.
SN 2R11N68P translates to.. 12VDC, 176 model, Nov 1968.

Hi, I have one of these as well and I have been trying to track down the serial number to find the year. Unfortunately my serial number layout is not the same as you posted here. Can you decipher or send contact information for someone who can? My serial number is 2P11E6 and it is a 176A. Thanks in advance for help.

Curious as to how both models have identical serial numbers. Iremember when the serial numbers code was being determined, this was a not 100 percent, as there was some debate about matching numbers. This doesn't appear to be rebadged. Possibly this could be the missing link, as far as SN v. RZun/Batch number. Do have any thoughts? Also. I have a couple of these, but the inside female flange is missing. I have the install/parts list for this, but the view doesn't really illustrate how it actually looks. Nice set, are you doing the restore, or the new owner?

Good questions, I am not going to claim to be a beaconray expert. I know enough to know when to ask someone else :). As for why these have matching SNs could be from the same order, both came from the same engine. I am not the owner of these beautiful beacons, but if you hit me up on FB or ELB I can refer you to him and he might be able to answer some of your questions.

Stampeedvalkyrie, do you know if that was a factory option to turn off the white bulbs and only run the red or was that some "movie magic"?

I believe it was standard on both the 175 and 176. 2 circuits one labeled R and one W.

@@stampeedvalkyrie that's what I get for looking at those lights and thinking they were "simple" on or off. I had no idea that older model emergency lights had the ability to have those kinds of options. Too cool! Thanks for the video and helping me learn something!
